I expect the French to win the FD, but I felt they were over graded in the RD.

It's the rhythm dance. It is supposed to be high energy.

The supposedly 120 bpm part of FB/C's RD was skated 60BPM, much to the confusion of several Japanese spectators, who tried to clap to it and ended up clapping 60 bpm.

If you want standing to complain about C&B's twizzles, you should also be appalled at FB/C's lift getting fours and fives. It was totally not unexpected and involved C gliding on two feet. Also the last choreo part was mostly arm motions, so the program ended on a low note., also overgraded. Each should be credited for what they do well, but not over scored for what they don't do well.

If you want to watch efficient stroking and great gliding, try watching the 10 km speed skating races.

In ice dance, I want to see dancing. In the Rhythm Dance, I want to see dancing to the rhythm. In the FD, you can do whatever, but you should still dance.

Thanks for pointing this out - I see so many people putting one sentence comments about how it's ridiculous that one team was ahead or behind, or low-balled or held down by the judges or whatever. But they never back it up, so it seems to be nothing more than just a personal preference.

I appreciate it your point about how the choreographic sequence is mostly arm movements. I agree. I guess that's why a lot of people have been saying they're striking a lot of nice poses. In addition, I agree with you that the French positive scores for the lift are outrageous. I'm no expert on lift difficulty, but it seems like a cop out- and it's definitely very uninspiring that's for sure.

and Laurence is Canadian. if anything, the Canadian judges, if they were cheating, would favour 1) their own, 2) the French and finally, let's not get into politics but there is not much love from Canada going south at this moment... quite the opposite.
