That was not as bad as it could have been, far from it, but also not as good as they (likely) needed it to be.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was it for them Their twist and lifts are genuinely among the best, even if their jumps and throws never had the consistency.

Tears, I am a mess right now. Chan/Howe gave great fight, but it was not without mistakes. Still, one of their best FS of the season and I was hoping the audience would lift them with a standing ovation.

Chan/Howe. Great outfits and a really nice program. After the first couple of elements, they relaxed and connected. Beautiful skate.

For some reason the Japanese feed isn't airing right now...I didn't even consider the possibility that they'd only air the final groups

Is it that the Japanese feed isn't airing it, or that the qq stream isn't showing it? I have only the qq stream available to me. It is airing the men's short program from yesterday. Disappointing either way--I only hope they 'bother' to show groups 2 and 3 of both the Pairs and Women's later.

There was something oddly aggressive about the way in which Chan/Howe skated...somehow I won't be surprised if this is their last performance together.

Skating so early, they will unfortunately not receive the PCS they need to make the Olympic team.

They are the next stars to be - NBC is so stupid

there are only so many prime time hours. Every time I've been to Nationals, some groups or entire disciplines have been in the afternoon.

I don't think it's a matter of them not being deserving.

Like in 2019, when Ashley & Tim won nationals for their first time ... the whole discipline was in the early afternoon. I particularly remember because my daughter and son-in-law came with me.

In terms of US pairs, they didn’t do badly at all with that skate. In fact, if this skate had been accompanied by the clean SP they skated internationally earlier this season, which scored 71 - 72 points, they would no doubt be on the Olympic team. A clean SP here would have scored them a 76; alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
