2026 Olympics: General Info and Pregame Chat

:ot: but since discuss using for Olympics
I never had nor used a VPN.
I didnt know thar streaming servixes can block VPN

I do know VPN hide your scrolling or what looking for or at.

I did not know VPN can access other people emails or accounts.

I do know admin on social media accounts can add.

I do know someone used account and nothing done.

That vmbeing said which VPN
Would you recommend to me

Surfboard
Nordvpn
Lifellock
They all start basic.
Do you pay for premium or the level above basic

I live in u.s.
While it may have no bearing on watching Olympics, it appears the Skating ISU YouTube channel has started blocking VPNs. When I tried to watch a 4cc video there using my VPN I received this message "VPN/Proxy Detected
To continue, turn off your VPN/Proxy. This will allow YouTube to locate the best content.". I use PIA VPN but have read elsewhere that NordVPN users are having the same problem. I hope that a work around can be found.

I am devastated about Deaana and Maxime's withdrawal from the team event as it doesn't look good for the pairs event.

At the same time, it looks like there is a chance for the injury to be controlled and treated "well enough" for them to compete, otherwise, they would have withdrawn right away. Deanna is a fighter and a warrior and she said after Nationals that she wanted to skate despite food poisoning because they wanted to prepare to any eventuality that conditions are not optimal for the Olympics. If they can skate, they will. There is no way I can imagine them withdrawing, unless skating is not safe for them. At this point, it's not about a medal, it's really about achieving this long life dream, for both of them. Deanna said she wanted to continue but Max said he didn't have 4 more years in him. So my 20 fingers (hands and toes) are crossed for them.

I saw the news this morning. Praying that they can make the individual event.

Well said. Let's hope for the best 🙏

WE GOT THE MINIONS PROGRAM BACK!!!!!! Tomas's plight went kind of viral and picked up all sorts of media attention, as it should. Not having the Minions program at the Olympics would have been the worst thing to happen since the 2002 SLC judging scandal. FS Twitter also unionized, crying out loudly to the gods that be (aka Universal, who holds the music copyright) to make this program happen. Tomas posted on Instagram that he has managed to clear two of the four pieces, which were the problem pieces, via a special arrangement with Universal Studios. He's waiting on the other two to clear but it's very likely Minions will be at the Olympics! He said in the mixed zone that he brought his costume just in case, and that has worked out for him! FS fans, look at the power we have. We have brought about the most important change our sport has perhaps ever seen, and saved the amazing Minions program. Continue to speak up! Fight for change! And be grateful that Tomas won't have to do back-to-back BeeGees programs as he was originally planning to do.

I am not able to watch the ISU YouTube channel since the past week or so, with NordVPN. I also cannot watch the Olympics Figure Skating YouTube channel.

re. detection of VPN: AFAIK each device has a MAC adress, which identifies amongst other things, where the device has been bought. Therefore if you buy your device e.g. in Germany and set it via VPN to Canada it is possible to identify the device being German and therefore be blocked in Canada

I watched Euros via VPN because our public broadcaster didn't broadcast all competitions and I didn't like the commentator very much. I just did a test: it stopped working. Youtube detects the VPN

They couldn't have at least let us have the Olympics. I'm just devastated over this. I cannot. Cannot. Cannot bear Tara and Johnny. Not to mention not being able to see all the skaters I want. I was really looking forward to this. Hopefully we'll be able to access some Canadian coverage.

we're hosting them so how about a pizza Margherita?
yum! Very likely - please recommend dessert as well

Just to be clear, no one knows who is skating in the team events nor the starting orders as of 1:22 pm PSt Tuesday? Doesnt this seem odd?

...if they will make it, then, perhaps, they skate will be special one because their inner pressure for the medal will be silenced, and they might skate more with inner freedom and to achieve more that they ever expected- as to say, to get a medal different a completely level, which is no less of value than gold medal around the neck.
