I was talking about Livia when it was really Maria skating. I decided to switch on TV, as TV stream is about online, only some seconds behind.

I will give credit where it's due. Tara Lipinski has made some more meaningful, expert comments this event compared to the past. She still talks for too long, but she's improved.

Feigin had a good program until the 2A, where she had a big step out and possibly missing rotation. She went into this jump soooo slow, I thought she was about to stop & skate backwards already. This I think caused the error. A lot of lovely moments in her SP, like f.e her sit spin in a rare position. She had zero to none connection with the audience in my view, just looking at her feet but that's something I got used to.

Sadly probably won't make the free, that 2A error didn't help, and the step sequence was pretty mediocre.

Question to the group: I know arm's over the head makes jumps harder to complete, but if that's all you do, then no extra points. I prefer to see arm variations. Or since this is becoming more common, less GOE?
Some actually say it makes it easier for them to jump, because the arms properly stretched above helps them maintain air position/straight body axis. Also, in current code, there's no longer +GOE for the arms above head, the addition was in the code for some past years only.

JULIA I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! She has one of the best 3Lzes in the business, honestly, and always has so much joy and personality on the ice. Apart from the slightly tight landing on the loop and axel that was a fantastic program from her and I really hope the judges go with her on the components. She has had a lot of funding issues, I think at one point she was working as a waitress to fund her skating career, but now she is putting out fantastic programs at Worlds last year, Europeans, and the Olympics.
