i heard the run off of condoms, i'm afraind Noro it's not going to be the only thing spreading :ROFLMAO:

you mean a lot of baby athletes for olympics 2046

Hey, we've got an Olympic baby kicking off the Women's Slalom this morning.

Lara COLTURI (ALB) was born in November 2006. Going back 9 months takes us to February 2006, when her Mum, Daniela CECCARELLI (ITA), was competing in the Torino 2006 Olympics.

Daniela was actually the reigning Olympic Champion in the Women's Super-G from Salt Lake City 2002, and was attempting to defend her title. But, she only managed 31st position in San Sicario.

Distracted doing other things?

Run 1 of the Women's Slalom in Cortina is due to start at 10:00:00 CET (09:00:00 GMT / 11:00:00 GMT). So 3 hours from now.

The aforementioned Lara COLTURI (ALB) will be the first to start, and my kid Andrea LOIZIDOU (CYP) will be the last to start.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

I just finished watching the Pairs event…

Yes. I know. I’m a day behind. It is so hard to live life and watch all the Olympics at the same time. I watched the event live yesterday till the final two groups and then I watched the final two groups today.

Congrats to the Japanese!!
I was clapping at their clean free skate. They are a class ahead of the field that they can make a mistake on the lift in the SP and still rise to the top. Part of the victory must be shared with our Canadian camp that includes Meagan. Meagan takes out her calculator and knows how to push the athletes for maximum points achievement.

This wasn’t even a close competition. They won by ten points.

The Georgia team… I’m not sure if they deserved the silver medal or not. The Germans were so tentative and it was weird seeing Minerva just give up and just shrug it off so easily.

The Hungarians seemed robbed. But, they scored a much better score than they have ever. However, it must be frustrating to skate so consistently and clean only to have teams with mistakes make the podium.

The Chinese team was impressive. Despite no triple jumps, the fact they came 5th is a testament to how well they execute all the other elements.

Lia & Trentt - I expected this result. I almost threw my shoe at the tv screen when they only landed the 3T 2A combo…. But, lots of silly mistakes followed. Still, 8th isn’t that bad and I hope their SP gives them more confidence, for the future, if they continue skating

I hope for happiness for both of them. She still has his last name tacked on to hers...maybe cause she is a private person and doesnt want to explain..... but I think it was a New Yorker interview (dont quote me) where she said it cost her a relationship. I wondered from the start when they were first married and then she made the decision to go back to skating. I am sure they talked about the consequences of what throwing yourself into this sport means. I live with a very competitive athlete who spends lots of time away from home, but its usually during a 3 weekend and back here and doing her sport locally during the week and its hard enough...if one person needs another in their life most of the time, getting involved with a skating person probably is not a good idea. As Robert Cohen, martimonial lawyer and Author of "Reconcilable Differences" says, "Long distance relationships are seldom good" (he may have said "never".)
She addressed it briefly in the same terms "it cost me a relationship" in the 2-part documentary "Deanna's Dream". In addition to the normal strains of a long-distance relationship, there were COVID restrictions and a border between them. She could have gone back to the US, but would not have been able to re-enter Canada. She mentioned that in the doco.

Oh, that’s to bad. Not having a supportive spouse is sad.
That is a tough one to think about. It is certainly good to have a supportive spouse. I like to believe I support my athlete wife....watching her old dogs when she leaves, eating dinners alone, taking care of the ranch.....but for us , 6 month absenses by choice (not military families by war or circumstance) would not work. Other people may have diffenent tolerences to absence. I am sure they talked about it at length.

Wish I did go to Italy! But Hawaii was nice. My cousin and her daughter who competes in sailing need to bring me back some condoms from the next Olympics if she makes the team again....all I do is collect grand daughters.

i wish your cousin's daughter to make it to the olympics!
