I'm not an Ami fan. Very very simple programs full of crossovers and smiling. But, you can't deny the jump quality usually but not today. The 3A was great. Her other jumps were a bit off imho. Still likely enough to win. I preferred Kaori and Amber tonight...

Ami Nakai should win GOLD. The 3Axel makes up for the mistake on the combo and that was the most radiant performance I've seen from her of this program. Her skating skills are better than Alysa's. It's time for another Japan GOLD. And this makes up for Mao Shimada unfairly being excluded from the competition.

Hate to be that person, but I'd have Liu ahead of Nakai on PCS. Advantage Nakai had with the 3A got whittled away with combo mistake. Thought I saw a couple of Q's in there too.

That mistake on what should have been a 3T may have cost her the gold, but Nakai should medal easily. She held up to the pressure very well!

Wow, it will be close. I think they will give this to Alysa, and Ami may go to third, she will probably get a bit lower PCS. Anyway, what an amazing olympics for her.
You know what, I'll take these result, even if I desperately wanted Kaori to win.
