So how many people of GS are going to be at Prague? Do you want to meet or are you more interested of being by yourself?

:wonder2::wave:

You cannot fathom the things I am forced to do with my cat draped around my shoulders. I think in Ice Dance it's called "a scarf?"
Sometimes I have also seen the words "partner" or "sister" used.

Sorry to hear about Jason; I hope whether he is either retiring or staying, he is doing so on his own terms. Have fun in Prague to all those going! I had a ticket but health issues forced me to sell it earlier this month, so I will be alone with my couch and my peacock.

Skaters are dropping like flies!! What is the cutoff of when someone can decide not to go, so that I know when to stop checking?!!
there is no cutoff to w/d. Injuries, illnesses can happen even in the warm-up.

however, at some point, it gets too late for a federation to send a substitute. With the event starting just in a few days, Jason's w/d is probably one of the last ones that would get a replacement.

I think subs can be made until the draw is finalised?

I think so. The problem is that draws are done the day before the event... so if someone w/d that close unless it's the host nation, or a nation just next door, I don't see how they can get someone on a plane and ready for the event. I mean Skate Canada wants their skaters to have done at least two practices... so that means Monday for those competing Wednesday

True but that means the following year one less skater (who deserves it) has the opportunity to go to Worlds.
It also may mean that a skater from another country picks up that lost spot and deserves it too you know :).

I find it very hard for countries who go from 2 to 1 spot... but for me, third spots should be really reserved to nations who do have more than one contenders. Dance is a bit different with the wait for your turn game but singles and pairs, from 3 to 2 is just a sign that the depth is no longer there.
