2026 World Figure Skating Championships | Exhibition

ok. nikita is very hot... I don't usually like guys with slicked down hair LOL.. so tacky.. but damn he is a fine specimen LOL

Japanese boys stole my heart and ran away, I couldn't stop smiling during Shun's performance and Yuma was just mesmerizing.
Adam did what Adam does best and it was brilliant, he is so dynamic, I loved it.
Amber was fabulous, such a great program for her.
And Kaori, oh my goodness, Kaori skated like a goddess. I don't know how we'll survive without her. She will be so, so missed. I'm forever grateful that I got to witness her career and this was a perfect ending to that beautiful story.

Thank you all for your company during the season!

ok.. synchro 9 will be all about 3 lines of 3...

sigh
While super happy they actually showed the synchro performance at the gala (they happen but TV will normally not show) it was meh. Good team and fabulous skating, but it seemed like a watered down version. Also agree with your other comment about the one skater just floating out there.

PS.: if one day synchro worlds will come somewhere near me, I will be going. Watching this live was hypnotizing.
Synchro Worlds is in Salzburg, Austria this year. Synchro Worlds next year is in Nottingham, England. Synchro 9 most likely will be on the billet next year.

Synchro comps are always so fun! Sometimes I think the crowd can be more entertaining 😁

I was watching the gala in the arena… what a weird episode of Ilia ego massaging that was. I am still cringing. What was its purpose?
making sure Ilia feels loved and rewarded for his achievements, so he can pursue more achievements and receive more rings and keep competing. Somehow, the ISU believes that the popularity of the sport will come through him... I think Kaori and Alysa are way more likeable by casual fans but that's just my opinion

I don't always watch the gala, but this time I did, and it didn't disappoint. I loved the start with the Czech team. Were they inspired by the Italian team at the OG (who also did a team number at the gala)? I hope we get more of that ilk in future World's?

Kevin is just wonderful to watch. His skating in itself is to die for. I liked Shun's contribution as well, very musical. Yuma also did a great piece which illustrated his skating skills once more, as did Ilia showcasing he can do moving bits too (although when he finished, and there was some kind of award for him, I quit watching. It was cringing at the start - not your fault Ashley, so I just couldn't keep watching). Loved Isabeau's contribution, very playful. I thought Lia and Trennt had a lovely outing. Some fun, but also some good technical stuff. I enjoyed watching Nina as always, while Kaori was superb. Good to see Stephen taking part. Not sure about Synchro 9 yet. I like the groups of 16 skaters, so it feels smallish. Piper & Paul had something different, while Evgeniia and Geoffrey were a bit too slapsticky (sorry if you liked it, it just isn't for everyone I suppose), although I did like Olivia and Tim (I had seen their gala programme once before). The gold medallists all were good though.

I mean, to his defense (and my surprise) I noticed at the arena that he is very popular among little girls. Don't know why tho. Teenage girls I get, kind of the main target, but literal children? When and where were they exposed to Ilia? Surely not during the Olympics? Mystery to me.
Still, he was rewarded for his record-breaking performance in December with, well, enough points to break a record and then gold medal. In December, y'know, at the event when it actually happened. That weird award makes him look like that one kid in he family who gets special treatment and is used as an example and role model for all the other cousins. Not his fault, obviously. But it's a shame everyone around him seem to think he needs more PR push and constant hype and celebration, like he couldn't be popular without it.
