Wow. I thought Starr was planning to do her pairs partner search reveal in a new documentary. 
I would never have predicted this matchup. I'm stunned. But I guess the tryout felt right for both of them. Starr is21 24 and Daniil is 27, which gives them both enough time to develop a career path in pairs, if they stay together! Staying together is a must or mutual efforts are a bust.
I wish them lots of luck. Daniil is a good pairs guy with flair and a fun personality, while Starr is delightful, a hard worker, and a true star.

Oh, when I looked up Starr's age, I didn't see the '24' number correctly! 
I thought they were closer in age. Plus, '21' seemed awfully young for Starr who has been around a very long time.

I thought he could have done a tryout with Ekaterina Geynish, who's posting herself jumping triples. Taller girl.
Starr is a novice in pairs, which makes me think there's more to this decision than just sport. Especially considering he was doing a GoFundMe with his former partner just a couple of months ago.

on the picture, they look very different.. maybe because he seems leaning forward. in the videos, they look good on the ice

About time, since a split occurred in order for this pairing to happen. As someone noted about Daniil's split (from McBeath) announcement, it seemed to be worded as if he had a new U.S. partner lined up. This is the most surprising off-season ever!

Not a huge exception to Daniil's height difference with Katie McBeath. Starr maybe seems much smaller due to her slim body structure. Daniil @ 6'4" is a tall guy fr! He is surely used to skating with small partners. His former Georgian partner, Anastasia Metelkina, is reportedly 5'4"
Based on their Wiki stats, Katie @ 5'1" is about 2 inches taller than Starr @ 4'11"

Another huge height difference pairing: Tom Bouvart @ 6' 1/2" and Oxana Vouillamoz @ 4'11"

And "bulk" difference as well (making allowance for a heavy jacket and so forth). I'll reserve judgment until I see them in skating costumes, but I'm afraid I think they look...unbalanced...in this particular picture.
That was last year. He’s back in Bergamo now.

There have also been rumors floating about a former U.S. pairs lady coming back. Blades & Banter podcast host identified this skater as Ashley Cain. I was not surprised, as Ash was my first guess. If true, though, who would Ash possibly find to partner with, as she is a tall pairs lady.

How tall is Danny (O'Shea)? I know that he's agreed to try out with Deanna (and I'm still "in denial" about this potential partnering) but I wonder if (and only if) he and Ashley would be a better match (considering he's tall enough)
