As I understand it, they've been there for some time, but it's only now that they've been noticed. And this applies not only to juniors, but also to seniors who never competed internationally such as Yametova. I don't think it has anything to do with the Congress.Russian juniors/novices are being added to the isu app right now, so a positive sign towards them being allowed back, I'd say
The ISU has not put this out publicly that I'm aware of? Also, "near future" is vague....The International Skating Union (ISU) will soon announce a decision on the admission of Russian figure skaters to competitions. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the ISU.
The meeting of the ISU Council was held in Tenerife, Spain.
"We will return [with an answer to the question about the admission of Russian figure skaters] in the near future," the ISU press service said.
"Any time up to the start of the opening ceremonies for the 2030 Winter Olympics"According to an article today from TASS:

Well, near future to me sounds like a couple of months at most. IF Russian skaters are allowed again next season, I guess they will start with juniors to JGP and maybe allow seniors to compete at Challengers?According to an article today from TASS:
The ISU has not put this out publicly that I'm aware of? Also, "near future" is vague....![]()
The journalists say that it was indeed about the very near future. Also, "near future" is vague....![]()
The ISU is just mocking them at this point, what could there possibly be to discuss? They are either reinstated or not. The IOC says Russian athletes need to be reinstated, but the ISU clearly has no fear of repercussions. The latest update as per TASS, citing ISU press-service.
The next discussion will happen in the next few weeks. Nothing further at the moment.
