2025-26 Retirements, Splits and New Partnerships

Rikako Fukase and Atsuhiko Tamura are a new ice dance team on the CQE entry list - https://patinage.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/CQE2026-Liste-des-participants-au-16-juin-midi.pdf

She's been representing Canada as part of Les Supremes in Synchro after representing Japan in Ice Dance. They're listed under a Canadian club at the moment, it could change.

Also Alicia Fabbri and Sandrine Gauthier look to have found partners, but those partners aren't listed yet.
That's very interesting. Rikako skated previously with Aru Tateno (he's now coaching ice dance in Kurashiki with Rie Arakawa) but it was quite a few years ago already. She's 28 and Atsuhiko is 22 so it's an interesting age difference for an ice dance team, I'm intrigued. I liked Atsuhiko with Sara Kishimoto and last season with Chisato - she was very new to ice dance and now he got a partner much more experienced so I'm looking forward to see what kind of programs and general aura this team can build.

Olympia and Émile are back together?

New Partnerships

Partnerships in strikethrough have since dissolved.

Ice Dance

- Mizuho Sugimoto / Eisuke Kumano (unconfirmed)
Confirmed (Junior Japan Nationals 2025) and recently split, Eisuke Kumano has a new partner

Erika Oue / Eisuke Kumano (Junior)

and
Noa Hozumi / Takuya Tanabe (Junior)

They are aiming to go to Junior World, according to an article in Mainichi (paywall).
Both of them did solo dance last year, and 2026-27 will be their first and last Junior year.)

(Both already mentioned in Japanese Pairs and Ice Dance thread, but not posted here yet.)

CQE updated the entry list for the unnamed partners! https://patinage.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/CQE2026-Liste-des-participants-au-17-juin.pdf

Sandrine Gauthier and Paul Ayer are now an Ice Dance team.

Alicia Fabbri and Marko Gaidajenko are now an Ice Dance team.

Currently they're all listed under Canadian clubs, but that could change.
So should Lim/Lagha be listed here as well!?

On another note (appreciate they are Ontario-based), I’m disappointed that Lily Henson and Nathan Lickers don’t seem to have found partners yet…

Very unexpected 😬. Missed timing to make me feel excited but good for them. I like that Hannah used the announcement to give us Zach in ballet flats content.
you gotta read our Canadian thread... "rumours" were in about most of the teams before the announcements... so you get used to the idea and it works out better for your blood pressure.

ETA. I missed your emoji.. so I missed your sarcasm LOL

I'm happy Hannah found a good partner, I hope they compete a lot domestically this year so we can at least see them.
I expect them to at least compete at sectionals, challenge and Nationals. They will not want to get behind the pecking order and there are 3 new teams that sound just as promising as they do. And of course, LaLe and Robinson Portz are still in... as well as Fournier Zhu... And of course number 2, Veillon and Brandys will be backed up by the Fed. (they are good so let the Fed back them up )

It was a sarcasm indeed, I know that thread very well and as a X user so I'm not a stranger to all fresh rumours XD
I agree they look good together at first sight, same as Marjo and Jean-Luc. I'm still sad about LaLa split but maybe they needed to get to new partnerships formed as already mature adults to get their goals, motivation and creative juices to a better headspace.

Fun times.
