Chinese Nationals | Golden Skate

Chinese Nationals

They will be skated next week-end, 7th to 10th january :)

Yes, but actually, there's a bigger competition will be held in April, which all Pang/Tong, Zhangs and three little girls who now are training in US will take part in.

Results:

Pairs
1. Huibo Dong/Yiming Wu Dong has improved her posture alot since last year.
2. Yue Zhang/Lei Wang
3. Duo Cheng/Yu Gao Very promising pair, Triple Twist, throw triple salchow, throw triple loop, SBS 2A seq 2A, fall on the SBS triple salchow. good lifts, and good speed, but their spins were not so good... 1st in LP
4. Wenjing Sui/Cong Han The most impressive pair to me..their SP is very good choreographed, steps into SBS 2A, steps into throw triple salchow, and at the end of the program, beautiful steps into HUUUUGE triple twist.
5. Jiaqi Li/Jiankun Xu they were just recoved from horrible injuries, so didn't do very well in this competition..

Men
1. Nan Song 18years old. landed triple axel triple toe combination
2. Chengjiang Li Landed quad toe triple toe combination in his free skate
3. Chao Yang 19years old.

Ladies
1. Yan Liu Landed 3loop seq 2A
2. Binshu Xu
3. Qiuying Zhu

Ice Dance
1. Xintong Huang/Xun Zheng
2. Jiayue Wang/Chongbo Gao
3. Xiaoyang Yu/Chen Wang

Actually, the most impressive part of this competition was the pairs, although Qing Pang/Jian Tong and Dan Zhang/Hao Zhang didn't take part in this competition due to their injuries, there were some young pairs who did very well. And Wenjing Sui/Cong Han whose choreographer was from Russia did a very Russian style program, which was fresh to see in Chinese Nationals...

Does anyone know what happened to Reigning Jr. World Bronze medalist Jinlin Guan?? I totally loved him last year, but then he withdrew from the Grand Prix and is nowhere to be seen :(:(

Another question : The top 3 always (if age elegible) go to 4CC?? or how does the chinese federation select the international teams? I guess in Pairs obviously Z/Z and P/T are going despite not showing up at nationals but what about the other categories??

Thanks in advace :)

Jinlin Guan injured his leg three months ago...And this is the second time he had such terrible injury...Now he still can not practise yet...

Chinese Federation select the team acording to their results all over the season, not just because this one competition. They will announce the entries some days later...

I too was interested in Jinlin after seeing and liking him at Junior Worlds last year. Thanks for the quick answer, Sdongxie. Thanks to all for the info about Chinese Nationals. I hope the standings in pairs means that Dong and Wu will be going to 4CC so I can watch them there.

Some ladies were not competing :
- Fang Dan, is she retired?
- Geng Bingwa, I remember she has missed one JGP. Maybe is she injured? I don't know who will go to JW, because Zhu Qiuying (born in 1994) is eligible.

I think Pang/Tong, Zhang/Zhang & Dong/Wu will be the international team, and Zhang/Wang, Cheng/Gao & Sui/Han (if eligible?) on JW.

Probably Huang/Zheng, Yang/Gao & Yu/Wang on 4CC...

But selection for mens will be complicated, because Song Nan is junior eligible and will probably go to JW.

Is a junior championship planned?

Dan Fang is actually retired, now she is coaching in a skating club in Beijng.
Bingwa Geng doesn‘t have injuries, now she is trainging in United States with two of her teammates Kexin Zhang and Zijun Li under Coach Mingzhu Li.

Zhang/Wang, Cheng/Gao and Sui/Han will go to Junior Worlds. But I'm not sure whether Dong/Wu will go to 4CC...

Chinese Federation hasn't annouced the entries yet, and sometimes they will take the results of Junior Worlds into account...
