Free Dance

I am also happy for Emily & Evan

Tessa and Scott will peak coming worlds, I'm sure :agree:

Hopefully now all the talk about the Canadian bias, Canadian judging, Canadian conspiracy etc will subside a little and we can focus on the competition. Congrats to Davis and White..I really enjoyed their program!

I don't think they have ever beaten V/M before either

I don't care if it was only 0.58. i could run around the house screaming i'm so psyched

I didn't even like that program the first time I saw it (hate the Saint-Saens distortion), but by now they've completely sold me. Maybe I'll put down some money on the Bklyn Bridge too!

Congrats to S&B too!

Congrats to Davis and White :)

So Team Canada is two for two for silver.
Joannie might make it three, and let's see how Patrick does tomorrow. :)

or we can focus on the fallacious OD scoring?

OMG, just got home in time to watch the last 3 couples on IN & it was phenomenal!!!!:clap:

Well deserved win by Davis & White ~ the best! ~ they remind me of sprites/elfs/fairies out there.:agree:

Virtue & Moir were also very special (too bad about the mistake on her part). Still, wonderful to watch. :)

And last but not least Samuelson & Bates made the podium!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I'm overjoyed!

EDITED TO ADD: Davis & White's twizzles are the fastest I've ever seen, like lightning! They fly across the ice.

Now just waiting for the awards ceremony...:party2:

Yeah for Meryl & Charlie! I was so excited to see they had won, they skated beautifully and I absolutely love their program.

Meryl and Charlie did not perform as well as they did at nationals. Their were slightly behind the music in a few parts, but those twizzles...wow.
Meryl seemed to be smiling too much, not the emotion I saw at nationals.

But I am nit-picking.

I agree with you. I thought they were a little tentative and performed not as well as at nationals. But then it was still beautiful.

LOL. D&W only won by 0.58. How many times did V&M stumble? I didn't get to see their whole skate. I really have no capacity to judge dance, would you say V&M got boosted like the other Canadians? Anyway, I loved V&M's music, wish I could have seen them skate the whole thing ...

Did it look like how they did it at Candians. I think that program was just way to ambitious for this year considering the fact that she was injured and all. They should have just used last-years FD for this year and saved the Pink Floyd for next year and the olympics. Then they would not have to answer any of those "why do you and the french have the same music" questions.

finally a legitimate win....who cares about the crimes commited on the OD protocols

I don't understand...you don't think that Pang and Tong should have won??? That is the only other medal that has been awarded thus far.

Missed Davis and White as I had to feed my kids, but sounds like they had the skate of the night. I do like them but have a special place in my heart for our Virtue and Moir (saw them when they were tiny little juniors!). I actually really like their new free dance. A real departure for them, which takes a lot of courage as their romantic style was working for them. She had a few stumbles tonight, hopefully by worlds they can get the kinks worked out. I love how supportive Scott is of her. At Canadians, you could read his lips immediately after they skated and he told her how proud he was of her.

Why though? Davis and White only won by 0.58, so my question is, do people think V&M got boosted? If so, by how much?

If there was going to be any question of V/M being boosted I would say it was in the OD. They deserved to win the CD, but not the OD. That's probably why it was so close in the end.
I'd have to see their FD again, they scored a 94 right? They had a few stumbles here and there, it wasn't their best (but I am so impressed with how well they've done in their first international of the season!)

Yay Meryl and Charlie! A wonderful performance. Tinymavy, I thought they seemed a little behind the music too in parts but the timing has actually been changing a bit each time they've performed this. They did seem to slow their movements here but I think that might end up a good thing because they've been criticized in the past (and rightfully so) for being a bit frantic and rushing through things a bit.

I don't even think we've seen them at their best yet. I can't wait to see them and Virtue/Moir at Worlds! It would be amazing if they could both medal!

I hope so...It's getting a little old.

I'm a die-hard V/M fan. Davis and White were the clear winners, no question about it. I did think that V/M's free dance had improved since Nationals, though. There were some obvious stumbles but that lift that was so shaky before was amazing. Can S/B PLEASE pick some better music next season? I love their style but their music is pretty much the same all the way through their program!

They are seriously gathering momentum here. Am I the only one who thinks they could win the World Championship (if it is fairly judged)?

They have a great chance, especially with the home ice advantage. I don't know if that counts as "fair" but it is the reality of the sport so bottom line yes, great chance.
