Ladies SP Saturday Nov 14th 7:00 p.m. EST:

Should I bring this up? The 3T looked kinda UR on the slo-mo for my untrained eye

some of her 3T does look kinda UR, but they never got downgraded. Maybe the judges are a little bit easy on her?? Maybe they should show closer closeup of the jump landing.

I think they considered the UR. Or this would have scored some 80 points (not that I would mind, I think this program is awsome...)
Guess we'll have to wait for the protocols...

I thought the new system wasn't supposed to be a comparing system? If Yu-Na was not given high PCS, versus just enough to be in first, that would not be the new system. 6.0 was comparison. CPC should have the ability to compare competition to competition. Yu-Na's score is well-deserved.

She is clearly the best of the night but for real, she does not need a whooping 76.28 to win. It's ridiculous. They're all doing the same elements, with the exception of the 3-3.

However, I'm curious as to why Rachael is 2nd over Julia's clean program. A fall on her combo and a flutz?

I think it depends on the camera angle.... Anyway, I hate she pretentious behavior everytime the new WR comes up... Stop doing that...

?? How do you expect her to act? It's always going to be surprising and flattering when you get the highest score EVER, at anything - even if the record is your own.

The judges are not judging the rotation. It is the tech specialists and tech panel's job to do that. If it does not look under rotated on live time, they can not go back to review it after the fact and change their mind.

Actually I made this original comment about URbefore the scores came up. Are you referring to Kim's pretentious behaviour or mine? I am confused.

No they are judging rotation. Judges are the ones who decided, GOE wise whether the jump is UR or not. They make the choice individually and mark according to what they think is right. Before, the caller would decide and the judges would ALL HAVE to mark accordingly to what the tech called. Judges now don't see the UR mark until protocols are out.

And as a side note, judges are not informed if the jump was downgraded or not. When they give their score, they don't know if the jump was downgraded. The are judging the rotational ability, height, entry, exit, etc. The downgrade is up to the panel.

I don't have the feed at all. Did someone say that YuNa is skating to "Classical Gas"? What a great choice for a short program! (Or is she just warming up to it? Even that would be cool. It's such a tremendous piece.)

:) No, they were playing it after Rachael finished and Yuna was warming up.

Better than some of the pop fluffs they were playing before.

For me, speaking of the scores - Yuna seems better than her margin over Rachael and Julia. It was no contest, Yuna should be skating against the guys
