Otherwise, he always seemed so reliable I don't know why it would be considered so nerve wracking watching him skate.

I can tell you are not cut out to root for Alissa or Tomas - they would simply shatter you

She may have won US nats but she wasn't the highest (or, in this case, higher) placing American at worlds. Rachel was in the top 5; Alyssa was out of the top 10. Hmm...I think I'll stand by my first post.

I think you are misunderstanding my point. The take-home message of my post is: (I believe) the evidence suggests that Czisny is NOT, and will NOT be, "The One" as the title asks.

Yeah, I was just fooling around. Actually, I have had the delight to have seen Alissa perform at every level from novice on up, and she is my absolute favorite, come rain or come shine. Just seeing her step onto the ice makes me smile.

IMHO, She is

one....singular sensation...with every little step that she takes....

Actually, she's 22. And she got a gold and silver medal at Grand Prix events in 2005 and went to the GPF that year. I became a big fan after watching Ice Diaries in 2005 (I think you can still watch on youtube if you haven't seen it). She seems like an absolute sweetheart and throughout that whole series everytime she messed up, she didn't get mad but just appreciated the chance to learn from the experience. She's so driven and down-to-earth too. She seemed to have a great relationship with her family and her coach and never pulled any of the sasha diva nonsense. Just a nice, wholesome American girl, and she's so pretty!

I agree with whoever said you have to expect her to fall three times, and then everytime she doesn't fall on her jumps you get really really excited and then when she finishes her program she blushes and flashes a big smile which is so cute it makes the audience smile :yes: . I also feel for her nervousness, a number of people in my extended family suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder and all those nerves really do affect people more than you would think. Seeing Alissa persevere for so long makes me happy

I'm with Dee on this one... the ice is slippery, and Olympic Ice seems to be unforgivingly so...

Actually, one insider at another forum (I think he/she knew someone that competed against Czisny) didn't have exactly glowing words to say about her...Of course, without knowing her personally (for a while) one just never knows.
