Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Wow! Is he trying to land a quintuple jump next? Didn't Lysacek want to be the one who lands it first? To think of it, my heart is beating faster already. If you ask me, I don't want to see it.

Russian Nationals are around December, I think right after Christmas.
Russian Cup IV is this week, I am lazy to see when exactly now. :p
"Actually, only Plushenko, I keep watching him over and over. It's helped a lot. He's a great mentor."
I hope he doesnt jinx Plushy by watching him over and over (joke). Chan is too diverse in his comments from one day to the next. I dont know what to think of him. At least, I m glad he didnt say he and Lori laugh again on the videos of Plush.

Wrong "categories"!

   Thanks, that made my day! I tell ya, I've had a utterly fcuked up day and needed a good laugh.

... this is more "philosophical" picture - I love Johnny's

  It's a bit freaky, too!

Too much fuss in my opinion- truly amazing that Plushy is trying this but- probably that was the intention of video first place.;)But since he stopped skating for 4 days last week due to flu it will be extremely stupid to even think about trying to land this. And I will kick his butt if he gets hurt. [/URL]

It's a bit silly to be fussing over a jump combo when he should work on his programs instead - he really needs to put some choreo and transitions into it. I'm saying this as a Plush fan, PLEASE work on the programs instead, because what he showed at RC, especially the free program, was crap, pretty much. Sorry! And it would really suck if he gets hurt trying out some freak combo.

Ah, analysis of analysis..Article about the new combo Plush is trying...
...... But since he stopped skating for 4 days last week due to flu it will be extremely stupid to even think about trying to land this. And I will kick his butt if he gets hurt.
But the doll to analyze the 3x-4t is hilarious, I thought I should post it
... And if he planned to submit combo to the "Russian Cup" in Moscow this weekend, his agent is not sure: "Evgeni had a cold the past few days, he not skate three or four days."

Please, translate analyze this combo... according to them, he would receive 18 points for him? :)

.... chan REALLY spends time analyzing plushenko's quad technique...

Dartfish changing figure skating

... "Dartfish is a computer imaging program, where they use a camera to record an element or a program, and it can do a frame-by-frame analysis," said Skate Canada's CEO, lawyer William Thompson, "so if you're having difficulty, say, on the takeoff for a triple Axel, you can do a few, look at the ones that are successful and the ones that aren't, and see where you make your technical mistake."

Canadian champion and world silver medallist Patrick Chan, who has been working his way up to a quad jump, went to see the sport's acknowledged expert in Dartfish training, longtime coach and U.S. Figure Skating Association official Christy Krall, during the summer.

"She's been the most help so far this year. I mean, Doug Leigh (former coach of Brian Orser and Elvis Stojko) got me started at the beginning, but technique has changed a little since then," Chan said. "With Christy, we just keep looking at my jump on the videos, comparing it with (Evgeni) Plushenko's and (Alexei) Yagudin's and just seeing what I can change with my body."

Dartfish's ultra slow-motion software -- initially a "SimulCam" television application used on broadcasts of sporting events, which has evolved into an invaluable tool for colour analysts on sports from baseball to golf -- also can measure the flight time and height and distance travelled on figure skating jumps, helping coaches calculate rotation time necessary for a jump to be completed.

In the 2006 Turin Olympics, according to the Dartfish website, athletes who had used the technology won a total of 138 medals in numerous sports.
Not and Plushy - he have "Mishin's Magic Vest"

Thanks, Plushyta, as always for the latest updates & info. about Evgeni, it is greatly appreciated. :)

And thanks for making me laugh with the amusing photos, in particular the Patrick Chan one, I was just waiting for that one. The levity is much appreciated.

Maybe Plushenko would rather land a 3axel/4toe at the Olympics than win Olympic Gold. The guy already has an Olympic gold, and he did so with what was a tame performance jump wise for him. Maybe now he's thinking it would be cool to get his name in the history books for something like that.

post

Read the article...but can barely make it out even though i maximized it, lol. too bad he's sick with the flu, eh.... when is russian nationals? just around the corner, isn't it? maybe he'll be craZy enough to try it out.....

here's another good article.... chan REALLY spends time analyzing plushenko's quad technique...

Kobold... you must quickly respond to Ada for tickets!

ugh, so he can represent russia at the olympics without competing at nationals? i don't think sasha can do that for the US. different rules i guess....

This is not Russia Nationals, this is local Cup of Russia, plushy got part in number 2 phase of this cup. Russian Nationals are at Christmas. Their appearance there + Europeans will determine the Olympic Team.

Although it wouldnt surprise me if he skipped RN, he has competed this year and he is top athlete inside his country with B. and V. fighting for the other spot (i wish i cound say lutai also) , not so much the case of Sasha that we dont have a sign of how she is against the others usa ladies .
Plushyta is there official announcement for this? :( Ah well, at least one weekend skating -free, i was starting to feel overdosed:rolleye:

Not really, this competition isn't Russian Nationals and by all accounts he's been off the ice for a number of days with flu.

The difference between Sasha and Evgeni couldn't be bigger - Pluschenko has competed in various national competitions, he's competed in and won a GP where he landed a 4/3 in both programmes and multiple triple axels.

So maybe if Sasha has taken part in one of the summer competitions, and won a GP while landing multiple 3Lz/3T in the process it might be comparable?

oh ant, is this one of these days again?;)
:agree:

These days are becoming increasingly frequent! I like them, maybe that's why i still haven't looked up Plush's performances from Rostelcom

In all seriousness though i don't like watching skating on my computer and cabling in my area at home is so bad that the speed is pretty slow for broadband and skating tends to stutter and buffer too much to really enjoy so i'll have to wait for Europeans to watch on a TV screen.

In exciting news though i'm going to watch our nationals on Friday and Saturday so that should be great fun! It's always fun to see if the senior ladies will land more than one triple between them  (actually Jenna usually lands at least two!)
