I agree with that criticism. In fact, the music didn't help his performance at all. I think his presentation would have greater impact with more rousing music.

I think the original SP had Edvin Marton going nuts on the violin for the circular steps so it matched....but the music was blecherous! The music went back to the original and the steps....didn't change! Always been Plush's prob, though i think he does attempt slower steps in the LP.
