I'm new to skating but so that why I'm posting this in newbie thread well. they are new too. i've messed up my shoes till each and every ollie puts a hole in my sock after which im gripping on skin and I've done that to like three pairs.
so i was wondering in case you guys had any tricks or anything that slows down how long it takes for new shoes to get shredded?
I dont know, like producing the leather tougher or something?
or is there just a brand of skate shoe that's a lot more durable within the ollie region than other people?

Not quite sure what you are saying here. Are you saying scuffed up? Are you saying you are rubbing holes in your socks (you are probably wearing too heavy a sock)? A little clarity please...

Judging from the terminology you use, I think you're referring to skateboarding, rather than figure skating. Since I lived with a skateboard pro, I will email him and ask him your question for you.

not the one who thought they were tinkerbell, right?

Thanks, Mathman. I learn something new everyday! But I still can't tell if this OP wandered into the wrong party, or if he purposely came here to see if we figure skaters had some special insights about footwear that the boarders lack. :)

LoL Toni, no, Butterball moved out a year ago. Figure skaters and people who eat copious amounts of butter do not mesh well together.
