Team USA Champs Camp (starting Tue Aug 21)

i spot Meryl right away. Is Charlie the partially obscured guy in the last row at the extreme right? I was hunting for Adam Rippon, but now that he's cut his hair, I can't find him so easily. I miss Amanda Evora!

Well, at least Weir is easy to spot.

The other small-group pictures are fun. And there's Michelle; yay! Thanks for posting everything.

Just saw that! They better name some music names and not just tease us

Not 100% sure, but yes, I agree that the guy in the last row at the very right must be Charlie White. And I think Rippon is next to him -- i.e., between Alex Shibutani and White.

A feast of more Champs Camp photos from yesterday:
http://skatingmagazineblog.com/2012/08/22/cadid-photos/

It's a big batch showing only Davis/White, Wagner, Abbott, and Denney/Coughlin. (Not the dozens of other skaters at camp.)
It includes additional photos from the Western shoot, but also many other looks.

Two of the best ones, IMHO:

- Davis/White: http://skatingmagazineblog.com/2012/08/22/cadid-photos/#jp-carousel-1943

- Wagner and Abbott: http://skatingmagazineblog.com/2012/08/22/cadid-photos/#jp-carousel-1957

I just find it annoying that on one hand he sits and whines that he doesn't get the support *he* wants from the USFSA and wants their endorsement but he's never shown any support to teh USFSA... he can't have it both ways.

Is it such a big deal not to wear the team t-shirt?
Seems like it is not worth attacking or necessary to defend something that is at it's best an attempt to attract attention.

Just "Johnny being Johnny."

On the other hand this pic got my attention :)

Can't imagine the howls of protest we might hear if it was Caroline, Mirai or even Rachel daring to have some ice cream

It's nice being the Champ

If the USFSA want to be taken seriously, they should take themselves seriously. That means they can't take group photos with an iPhone they borrowed from the Shibutanis.

who would be upset about ice cream?...

I just don't see the attitude change Johnny proposed he's had... that's all. If he proves me wrong, that's fine, too.

Did Johnny say he had an attitude change? Must've missed it, but of course he doesn't mean it, he's too fabulous to change. US Men needs Johnny Weir, alllll of him.

Mostly because I think Evan is going to drop out like he did last year and we really can't depend on any of the other headcases.

^Then why not suck it up for a group picture and wear it? ;)

It's possible he lost or misplaced his shirt.

Or maybe Ashley spilled her ice cream on Johnny's shirt leaving him no choice but to change it.

Atleast Johnny managed to show up in time for the picture....which is more than can be said for a few others. ;)

Now if only Johnny and Evan can get into a silly argument everything will seem to be good with US Skating. :p

Why do you care what his reasons are? It's just one casual group photo for Twitter. The fact that he didn't is inconsequential and not an indication of his attitude towards competition or retroactive invalidation of his complaints against the USFS. I mean, really, how much can you read into it.

Best cowboy: Charlie White

Best cowgirl: I will wait until Madison Hubbell and Rachael Flatt get there before I make up my mind.

who would be upset about ice cream?...

It's fattening. One ice cream cone = 3.29 degrees less revolution on your triple flip. :)
