2014 Olympics Pairs Short Program

Berton/Hotarek
Yellow pants
She falls on the sbs triple
Low twist
Very strong in the lift, but a little slow across the ice.
Nice DS with fingersnapping

Fair enough. I admit I just dont like the skating of D&R. They do have some hard transitions I admit, but I have studied the transitions mark more and I realize now more than before it is about how smoothly you do them and integrate them into the program, not just how many or how hard they are.

I really felt the theme and musical use for S&K and didnt at all for D&R.

Also fair enough... I do hate, and I mean HATE, D/R's music so i am with you there. I've been criticized for saying so since he wrote it as a tribute to a dead person, but that doesn't mean it's good music I'm sorry.

Same here. I really love the Russian #2.

Shame about the almost fall on sbs 3T, otherwise a solid skate. Will probably place them 6-7th.

SP: 32.90+30.67 = 63.57, in 7th (out of 16)

What's Tatiana and Max's base value? They will need that, plus +3 GOEs, plus max out the PCS!

I'll be interviewed for DR (danish radio) for the final warm-up group, so I probably won't be doing play-by-play for the final group.

You will be missed seguins! Have a fun interview.

I wonder if Berton's fall was more serious than she let on. It's a shame because they're such a lovely couple (banana pants notwithstanding... LOL!).

S/S--she's absolutely the best Panther I've ever seen. I don't think it will be enough, but should keep them in the hunt.

And Marissa and Simon will not finish any lower than 9th in the SP! Yay. It's very unlikely that they'll sneak into the penultimate group, but who knows.

This group is so competitive. Amanda and Mark score a point higher than Zhang/Bartholomay and managed to get into the top 10 in the 2010 olympics while Z/B will likely place 14th for their placement.

Speaking of with, yay for the Wendes for their likely top 12 finish; they didn't qualify for the free skate in 2010! And Vanessa James improved greatly with her new partner as well (she was 15th with previous partner Yannick Bonheur).

I suppose this is one benefit of having the TES minimum.
