The problem with this petition is that it is directed at the ISU and demands that they "rejudge" the event. This is not possible within the IOC rules. (What happens in Sochi stays in Sochi.)

I have a different opinion. I liked it the most of the top 3. She did telegraph a few of the jumps, but the overall feel was wonderful and I think that outweighs the slight landing issues. I loved it a lot.
The judges, of course, preferred Sotnikova, so whatever. I'm happy getting to watch it and I can make up my own mind just like everyone else.
I won't sign the petition. It is mainly focusing on Yuna.
Yuna was not the only girl robbed.
I think we should create a petition for the overscoring and the Lobby from Russia. This would have much more impact than trying to make a petition asking a gold medal for Yuna.

Lori Nichol did not choreograph for Michelle after the 2000-2001 season.
Actually, I like those Frankenstein programs. 2003 Worlds (Aranjuez), 2004 nationals (Tosca) are two of her all-time best, despite (or maybe because of) the uncluttered choreography. :yes:

I agree. The scores for every Russian skater in every single program was a fraud. It should be called the fraud figure skating Olympics. I wouldnt be dissapointed if every skater (even the ones who deserved their medals) were forced to give their medals all back and the competition was reheld at some neutral location far away from Russia, and no judge who was at Sochi or federation leader from any country was even allowed to attend (especialy any with remote Russian ties).

Mathman, your posts in this thread lighten my heart.
I agree. Every skater except the Russians were held to a different standard. All non-Russian skaters were treated unfairly.
Even though Adelina won the gold, she will always have an asterisks next to this OGM as undeserved by the majority outside of Russia.

For me, Ashley and Valentina were the most underscored.
But, all girls(except the russians) were robbed.
For me, Gracie has better PCs than Adelina and Julia. I don't see how Julia with a fall and step out got higher PCs than Ashley, Gracie and a clean Mao!!

After watching this whole Olympic skating competition in Russia and the crazy scores and win for Sotnikova tonight you really "dont see how" that happened.

I think a case could be made for either Sotnikova or Yuna winning. I thought Sotnikova had a fabulous routine but i love the understated beauty of Yuna Kim program. But those type of programs do not win the big prize (Virtue/Moir, Kwan, Lu Chen). Not Olympic enough. I think the other thing that hurt Yuna was maybe the judges had some resentment against her for skipping the grand prix and only showing up for the big competitions.
