Half the people where? And in what universe does it make sense that the US Figure Skating folks would be colluding with Russia on this? What would they have gained?? No US lady got a medal. BTW, on the subject of a possible deal between Russia & the US (to gain team gold for Russia and dance gold for US) that was rumored earlier in the games, Dick Button got it right. He made a comment to the effect that the US Skating Federation wasn't smart enough to make such a deal. In any case, Davis & White didn't need a deal to get the gold. Russia probably didn't either, even if they did benefit from some suspicious judging/manipulating of marks in the team event.
Why wouldn't 2-for-1 make sense? The U.S. wasn't competitive in Men's or Pairs, and only cared about the judging in Dance and Ladies. (the bronze in Team was inevitable).
Put ladies off to the side for a moment since Russians were main competitors there....
So you have a situation where USFS is primarily concerned with fixing the results in Dance. Russians say give us Team and Pairs and you have a deal, you think the USFS would say no and risk D/W losing? Or they would make a deal?

Then you get to ladies...both US and Russia competing against each other. But all of a sudden look at Adelina's, Julia's, and Gracie's scores skyrocket while everyone else gets the same scores they always receive more or less.
I wouldn't believe it as an American, but Gracie's 136 with a fall in the LP cannot be explained, and Julia's multiple falls in the LP got 135. Those results are fishy just like Adelina's almost "world record" score.

It doesn't take much deduction to conclude the French report was probably right, with the extra controversy being that US and Russia teamed up to boost each other's ladies as well.
Too bad for Gold and Julia they fell or stumbled so much. The protocols suggest that if they went clean it would have have been Adelina, Julia, and Gracie on the podium over clean Yuna, Mao, Kostner, everyone.
That's just not right. Too much smoke = hot fire
