The Judging Controversy Thread

Despicable human trash. They need to be put on trials.

Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps, with the skating world being as small as it is, that skaters and judges know each other quite well? People are reading too much into this…much like the summer Olympics when the Japanese gymnastics team was handing over cash for their appeal. Of course, everyone assumed that the Japanese team was bribing the judges, when in fact, they were just following procedure.

Hanyu also took a picture and was getting congratulations from a Japanese judge after he won; where's all the uproar about that?

To call Adelina and this judge "despicable human trash" is totally uncalled for.

Juliasochi needs to be banned. We cannot have a discussion on this with that kind of vitriol spewed left and right.

May I emphasize by reminding everyone that the base value difference across both the short and long programs for Adelina and Yu-na was only 2.94. Adelina didn't win by difficulty. She won by all those ridiculous +3 GOE's.

Yes I know this and agree. There are many inconsistencies in the judging that are outright fraud. Only the people trying to cover up the cheating are trying to reduce the entire competition down to one variable in 1 out of 2 programs.

But even on that one variable, Sotnikova was matched by Kostner and exceeded by Asada, and still outscored them by 7.

Uh yeah, that's my point.

Oh, and to clarify, lest you or anyone else misunderstands….I don't think there's anything wrong with the skaters hugging judges, whether from their country or another country.

2 of judges were next to the Adelina and hugged with her.

one is not Russian.

I have to say, if this is really all a huge bribery conspiracy/plot, they're doing a TERRIBLE job of hiding it. Somehow I think the Russians can be more devious than this.

Tarasova choreographs for Adelina. I highly doubt anyone in Russia would actually question this - they don't want to get in trouble either.

This. And, Tarasova had no compliments for Yu-Na's transitions in Vancouver when she defeated Mao. She just supported her own skater.

Off-topic: Does this forum forbid hotlinking pictures? I see the forum tool contains hooks for linking images but it seems like no one uses it.

no it actually means among those who voted on ESPN, the majority think Kim should win. Such online polls usually cannot be used as the opinion of the entire nation since those who voted may or may not reflect the country as a whole, and in a lot of cases, such poll is unscientific and voters are heavily skewed.

well, a lot of American think YuNa should have won.

ESPN POLL STATE.
