Actually no, Hanyu's poor posture, carriage, extension, poor taste in costume, etc. has been a frequent subject, on GS no less.
Hanyu's jumping technique is certainly not as labored as Adelina's. He lands with grace and lightness, not hunched over like Gollum in LotR.

Uhm, just like I said in my thread, it has to do with values.
There are several skaters that are a benchmark of what the artistic skating should be. Such are Chan, Plushenko, Lambiel, Yuna, Carolina Costner. Hanyu fell very well into this category. That's why people accept inflated scores - mostly. I'll explain to you how it was explained to me: skater have to interpret the music. Thay have to do every move with music accenting or illustrating it. They are not allowerd to make preparation pauses before elements like Sotnikova did. What she did is known as "junior style" when skating lacks the nuance. Sotnikova is talented but not that level yet. That's why the scandal.

Sorry guys, you keep moving the goal posts. In the end, what you are saying here is simply SUBJECTIVE judgment, yet you all claim to represent some UNIVERSAL principles, which is why you submit a petition to overturn an Olympic result.

Many of us, including judges, FS specialists, etc. have explained WHY Sotnikova won TES. So you all attack from the PCS angle, claiming PCS cannot rise at THIS RATE. That rising at this rate = corruption, your so-called "Values".

I proved that PCS CAN rise at this rate. It happened at the GPF 2 months ago.

Whether you agree with Sot's PCS rise is another matter.

In the end, OBJECTIVELY, PCS *can* and *do* rise at this rate without controversy. Your opinions about S's PCS is therefore your SUBJECTIVE feelings. So don't make it like there's some UNIVERSAL VALUES underpinning your objection to this type of rapid rise, heck, you guys even went to the trouble of making graphs. How about doing one for Hanyu, hmm? Since you're not doing this because it's Kim, but because you're so upstanding and objective!:rolleye:

Shut up. No one cares about Hanyu or men's competition. I won't make a petition for the Super Bowl either. How about Plushenkos PCS at team competition? The Russflation was alive and home cookin at these games.

Purely subjective, I dare to remind you: my subjective oppinion has been from the beginning that the scandal is about Yuna's underscore, not Sotnikova's PC rise
Anyway, I'd appreciate every link you can give where judges and FS specialists explain these results. Thank you in advance!

Since you lot claim to represent some UNIVERSAL figure skating principles and values, graphs and all, here's your chance to right a FIGURE SKATING PCS that was even MORE RAPIDLY inflated.

Or is it only outrageous when it involves Kim losing the gold??

I guessed RIGHT.

Then don't say that Adelina inconsistency is why her components were held down. It makes no sense.

You can't even keep a straight line of thought.

There is no way to justify the way pcs is scored other than reputation, esp in regards to newer and lesser known skaters.

No, it's you who keeps changing the argument. I never said reputation played no part at all, I just argued that it wasn't the only factor (which it isn't). The way components are judged is quite complicated, from the way the IJS says it's supposed to be done to the way the judges actually do it. But you simply can't boil it down to just "newer skaters are held down in PCS for the sake of veterans."

Adelina has been a senior skater for 2 seasons now, and she had the benefit of skating on the senior GP when she was ineligible for senior championships. She's not a real "newcomer". She wasn't held down last year at Worlds in order to get veterans ahead of her. She couldn't even beat her own fellow "newcomers."

Nothing. She skated her best. The panel chose her as the winner and lots of ppl got mad. Reminds me of the time "Crash" won over "Brokeback Mountain" at the Oscars.

One thing she did wrong was being insensitive to the feelings of others, trying to high five Yuna, what an idiot. Why the hell would Yuna want to high five her when Yuna just delivered on her performance and didn't win? 17 is not an excuse for being an insensitive idiot.

umm ... I don´t know if we watched the same video. It was Carolina who started the high five with Adelina. Adelina merely turned to Yuna with an outstretched hand for a handshake because it would be awkward and disrespectful if she didn´t.

What has that to do with Sochi results? :rolleye: Wasn't Kim accused of being rude to Mao for using cellphone when Mao was speaking during interview when Mao won world gold? Was Kim being an insensitive idiot? You're upset when this sort of catty sniping happened to Kim, then why do you do the same to Sotnikova?

http://riioidee.wordpress.com/tag/yuna-kim/

Your question was what did adelina do wrong. I have no idea about any cellphone call but I do not hear any reports of Kim trying to rub someone's face in the results, undeserving results at that...

Obviously we did not see same video. I saw adelina turn to caro and high five her, then turn to Yuna and try to high five her but Yuna offered a handshake instead, which was definitely more classy.

Still waiting for answer, why is it OK for Hanyu's PCS to rise +14 over 20 days (TEB to GPF recently), but NOT OK for Sotnikova's to rise by +7 over 30 days from Euro 2014 to Sochi???:rolleye:

Chan's PCS were much too high relative to all his competitors to begin with. That would already explain why more people are accepting of what was a ridiculous gap was closed up somewhat. Hanyu is also a far superior skater to Sotnikova.

Adelina's problem right now is that she should be happily celebrating her bronze medal, and I'm sure just about everyone here at GS would be congratulating her on it too.

This. Although if the Games werent in Russia I would be surprised if Mao was held up to 6th or 7th in the short, and then passed Sotnikova with her stellar LP, bumping Adelina to 4th. And even then nobody would have really complained (a complete 720 from now).

Adelina is a 17 year old that just won the Olympics deserved or not. She went out and skated her best and left it in the hands of the judges. Should she not be excited to be there? I don't understand why she is blamed for something the judges did. She's a kid being a kid, if everyone has such an issue why are you not writing letters to the ISU or IOC. Stop being bullies behind a screen because in the end your picking on a kid who didn't do anything wrong. Sorry for ranting but the things being written on her Instagram are awful and vulgar and she doesn't deserve this.

This explains in definitive fashion. Anyone that can dispute this should come forward. I spoke with 3 former US olympic skaters today, two of whom were medalists, and they were all in complete agreement as to the results being dubious for a number of reasons. There will never be a resolution for all, however, we must all move forward to change the context in which this can happen, for there are no winners here. The skaters did nothing but put in countless hours to entertain and edify the world twice for a few minutes. Do not their efforts deserve more than what they were subjected to?

Are you blind? Carolina is the one who held up her hand first to high five Adelina.

Who even cares if a girl wants to high five people. Are we seriously going to do this bulls--t Obama's fist pump controversy crap.

Why is Obama being dragged into this? I suspect you are the one who needs your eyes checked, especially if you think Adelina deserved to win. If you don't care if Adelina wanted to high five people, you did not need to respond to my post, did you?

Why would I write to the ISU or IOC, two very corrupt institutions? If you feel so bad for adelina, why don't you write to her and stop telling other people what to do. I find adelina's reaction to her win insensitive to others. Can you imagine if Evan had turned to Plushy and tried to high five him? If Evan had done that, I wouldn't have blamed Plushy if he had punched Evan in the nose.

I don't think she deserved to win, but if you think a high five (that Carolina instigated) is enough to cry bloody murder then you have serious problems.

You're being a huge moron so that's why everyone is replying to your posts..
