So they were complainning because people scream too much for their favorites skaters?

On one hand it's pretty disruptive to other people's enjoyment of the performances, on the other it is a show so....
Though personally my thinking leans towards the former.

During worlds there was quite a big discussion on TV about the behavior that fans should show. There are some fans that cheer like they would for Idols (in the japanese meaning of the word) and not how they should for athletes... So I can understand the complaining a bit
I too get easily annoyed by constantly screaming fans, but I'm probably too old to understand that *waving to the other aunties* 
but I also never understood why people start screaming like crazy at concerts. Not before or after the performance, but during a song, all the time, without even taking time to catch their breath (don't know how that works but some people manage) If you like a person's performance so much that you are willing to spend money to see it live, why would you keep screaming your head off during the actual performance? I just don't get it

I just don't get it I think such things have become an "issue" since the incident where a woman loudly squealed "yuzu aishiteru!" ("yuzu I love you!") at the exact moment his music/performance started for his world's short program.
There are some who blame Hanyu's subsequent fall on his 4T on her, because she broke his concentration at a critical moment.
Maybe it's no big deal at an ice show, if people really want to embarass themselves like that... but at a crucial moment in a competition?! Personally, I think they need a Japanese-style smack on the head, and a stern talking to about having a shred of dignity, and showing a bit of respect to the skaters.
I prefer people don't get into the habit of such things - even at ice shows. It sets a bad example, lets other people think it's OK, they try to out-compete each other etc. And then they go to competitions thinking such behaviour is OK there too.

:agree: And if I'll ever get to see Yuzu during a competition in real life I think that I would be so nervous that I wouldn't even be able to breath...screaming would be something impossible in that situation!
And I also think that for athletes in general,not only for skaters, this screaming thing while or before their performance can be very distracting and maybe disturbing...I agree. Like I said, I find such behavior always weird, kinda rude and disrespectful but during a competition it seems especially inappropriate. How about I come to your next math test or something and start dancing around screaming at you while you try to be good at something important. Not like you need to concentrate or anything. I'd like to see how that works out for you.
And btw: didn't many people around here complain that during the Olympics the crowd was doing pretty much the same thing and that many were being crazy loud on purpose to distract athletes? I'm not saying that's what happened, but it really is pretty much the same thing, isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong but I guess at that moment it doesn't really matter if you scream something nice or something mean but it's the screaming itself that creates the problem.

On the topic of fan-cheering, I think its not a huge problem during Ice Shows but it shouldn't be condone because then it gives people incentive to do it all the time, even during competitions. Of course this is only applicable to the cheer's before the performance. AFTER the skater finishes their program I feel you should be able to cheer as loud as you want, and of course any loud cheering DURING the performance is a big no-no :disapp:

I mean....sure love calls from fans can disturb a skaters concentration but shouting things like Russi-ya! before and after their performance really messes with a competitors head. Having people root FOR you vs AGAINST you is very different. :scratch:

I actually didn't mean to compare those two things, I was just referring to the recent discussion. And regarding the screaming I was also not talking about the Japanese fans specifically but crowds in general

I can't really tell without the right angle but it look slightly < to me. Less than 1/4...he most likely got the rotations down in practice since rotations are rarely the problem for him, but with the show spotlights its alot more difficult
Hope he shows us a bit more of it in later shows :yay:+I really like that hand movement he added when he did the ina bauer

Oooh! Becki did guess that quad lutz will be the first new quad he will unveil in competition (perhaps year after next?). Good for him to try it first before an audience and under the spotlight in an exhibition.

Correct if I´m wrong, but Yuzuru invitation to meet the Emperor is April 17th?
So I quess he will miss at least one of the shows in Nagoya? Don´t think he will reject and invitation like that, would he?

Yesterday I said nothing special happened at the show. I was wrong. This kid tried a 4Lo!!! I saw some reports on twitter. Some said it's a 4T, some said 4S, and I did see one repo said it's a 4LO.... But I didn't believe it until I saw the video! Crazy.....Although it looked like a little bit under rotated. But still amazing job
