Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

I am just curious why did they think the footage of a certain gold medalist fixing his pants would make it worthy of a news. Seriously Japanese Media is more than crazy. I wonder, if the kid were Canadian, he wouldn't have been stalked like that for sure.

Not that I don't think the media have their share of craziness...but to be fair, for this particular clip, I think the TV show was showing the rehearsal live, so it wasn't like they particularly edit out Yuzu fixing his pants or anything. :p

Exactly. It was "LIVE". It was real time on air. I guess the camera-man didn't know what to do actually at that time. Unfortunately Yuzu seemed to have no idea that he was filmed either so he fixed it just like that ... This reminds me that Yagudin once was filmed when he changed clothes at the backstage because after Overcome he needed to perform Winter (should be gala at 2012 OG). They also filmed his underwear LOL. But that cameraman realized the problem quickly and raised up his lens for a few inches to avoid filming more underwear scene.

Wow, this thread really does move fast, doesn't it? Today I come with a whole lot of video links!

So I found these team japan compilations a while ago and I absolutely LOVE them so I thought I'd share with everyone here. These feel like officially made videos, does anyone know the origins of them? I've been checking that youtube channel pretty obsessively hoping for a Worlds 2014 compilation since these seem to come out every year, but so far no luck ;_;

Thanks so much for sharing the links! There are a few clips which I haven't seen before!

These are ending clips put together by Fuji TV, the TV station in Japan who usually broadcasts the World and Japan National Championships I believe. Unfortunately I couldn't find the one for Worlds 2014 as well

There is a fan-made tribute on youtube (quite nicely done I must say): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-VbbDZP0O4
According to the uploader, it seems Fuji TV didn't have an ending clip made this year :ohwell:

I can't help myself and I have to share this with you, although I am sure you all have seen it before

The way he throws the t-shirt :eek::laugh:

His disappointment about loosing the dance-battle is sooooo cute!!

It's the same tv program (i think it was a sapporo tv show?) that introduced hanyu-kun, where the two lady's went to see his show, just about 20 minutes earlier than the clip that was posted before

Despite my love for Yagudin, I wouldn't want to see him in underpants. seriously cameramen...you guys' job is not stalking.
Anyways does anyone have more reliable sources about his 4Loop?

Pity! It seems that the news this morning with Yuzuru was actually an old interview about 10 days ago. There is no mention of 4Lo.

Yes, same program from the local Hokkaido TV station. The SSOI shows were on April 7, 8 and 9th, all three shows started at 7pm local time. TV show is broadcast on weekdays in the afternoon. So my guess is the two ladies went to see the show on the 7th, and then they show the live rehearsal clip is shown on the 8th.

That's too bad :( From the fans repo it seems that there were no presence of media camera yesterday. Although I did read one report mentioned there are cameras on the 3rd level.

I'm not sure if you guys saw this yet but I just love it how everyone's expressing happiness, and then it shows those in the back who's like unimpressed and just moping around like "well, there goes our chances" Does anybody know who those people are?

A friend shared this to me, I find it so amusing so I paste it here:

Thanks Meoima. From wikipedia:

Milne named the character Winnie-the-Pooh for a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, who was the basis for the character Christopher Robin. Christopher's toys also lent their names to most of the other characters, except for Owl, Rabbit, and Gopher. Gopher was added to the Disney version. Christopher Robin's toy bear is now on display at the Main Branch of the New York Public Library in New York City.

Christopher Milne had named his toy bear after Winnie, a Canadian black bear he often saw at London Zoo, and "Pooh", a swan they had met while on holiday. The bear cub was purchased from a hunter for $20 by Canadian Lieutenant Harry Colebourn in White River, Ontario, Canada, while en route to England during the First World War. He named the bear "Winnie" after his adopted hometown in Winnipeg, Manitoba. "Winnie" was surreptitiously brought to England with her owner, and gained unofficial recognition as The Fort Garry Horse regimental mascot. Colebourn left Winnie at the London Zoo while he and his unit were in France; after the war she was officially donated to the zoo, as she had become a much loved attraction there.[3] Pooh the swan appears as a character in its own right in When We Were Very Young.

In the first chapter of Winnie-the-Pooh, Milne offers this explanation of why Winnie-the-Pooh is often called simply "Pooh":

But his arms were so stiff ... they stayed up straight in the air for more than a week, and whenever a fly came and settled on his nose he had to blow it off. And I think – but I am not sure – that that is why he is always called Pooh.

So I guess Yuzuru was destined to have links with Canada. :)

I still don't get it? :p

"Pooh" would be the sound he made, each time he blew a fly off his nose, when he couldn't use his arms...

Thank you. Now I feel so stupid  (probably because in my country people don't "pool" when blowing sth).
This is such a cute topic (but only relevant in Yuzuru Hanyu fan fest tho:D)
