Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

My Guess his Free Skate will consists of the following (putting aside the spins for now)

4S
4T + 3T
4T
3A + 1Lo + 3S
3A + 2T
3Lz
3Lo
3F

I have a feeling the layout will be something like

4S
4T + 3T
3F
--
4T
3A + 1Lo + 3S
3A + 2T
3Lo
3Lz

im hearing overture at the beginning  can i panic now??
let me just finish my  and then you can have my paper bag to breath into

What´s is he eating? Protein?
lookie here
(and I just laughed so hard at the "competitive horse" comment in the notes )

I want him to go after all of the warhorses, it can play out like this:

2014-2015 Chopin SP, POTO FS
2015-2016 LesMis SP, Carmen (Shae-lynn Bourne Version) FS
2016-2017 Pirates of the Carribean SP, Nessun Dorma FS
2017-2018 Rachmaninoff SP, Carmen (David Wilson Version) FS

My head would explode, everyone's head would explode, it would be an amazing quad.

EDIT: Also Hanyu would switch to Morosov for the pre-Olympic season, so Morosov can reuse his POTC program for Fernandez with Hanyu. After a turbulent year filled with awkward touchy-feely KnC's, Hanyu would dump Morosov with no explanation offered. Japanese media hunt Morosov for some answers, he refuses to give any sort of comment. Drama. Then Hanyu goes coachless until Pyeongchang.
you just made me cry (and not the good kind)

IMHO (please dont hate me...) its not about the music and program that made me feel underwhelmed (since i still havent seen the whole piece to make a judgement). to tell you honestly i also got a little excited on how this is gonna turn out. the news probably just took out the sliver of hope that i have of him choosing a unique song.

now the thing that i hate that comes with his decision are the talks.
im totally NOT saying that they dont have the right to say something.. i just hate the fact that many assumes that yuzu's program is gonna turn out bad.

what gave me little relief is that he really wanted to skate to this music.
and to tell you honestly, the choice isnt that bad as others might see either
but i know some will think otherwise cause with all the thousands of music he could have chosen, he picked the most commonly used one.

but now many are thinking the same about how common the music was(which is true lol), and how its the same character as for the past 3 years (which is not true lol) and assumes every skater with the same choice of theme will all have the same program
and assumes that everyone will end up with the same music cuts
and whines about it while praising their fave skater's choice of music and on how good their program is gonna be
and tells how predictable yuzu is and will start comparing him to others who they think chose better
and will starts saying how bad he's gonna be and how boring it would be blahblahblah

even though they havent seen the program yet...  :sarcasm:

there i said it!! bye bye... :slink:

It's okay, I mean it's normal people have different reactions to this news, I am a fan and I'm worried about the program too, but everything is just speculation until we actually see the program

It's the internet. What did you expect? Baseless bitching is kinda part of the deal here. And not everything should be taken at face value anyway. Before anybody has seen more than 5 moves out of the whole program, there will be those who already know that it's gonna totally suck - and there will be those who already know that it's gonna be epic and the program of the century  it's not that big of a surprise that those two parties exist.
Personally I'll just stick with "so far I'm kinda bored by this choice, but I will neither like nor dislike it until I've actually seen the program"

Thank you... does it have taste?

And also, I love how invested Japan is in Figure Skating...

same.. i'll try to be as optimistic as possible about his choice and wait for the whole program.

but it still hurts you know (lol).. i want to be the one who brags on how unique his program is and b*tches on everybody about it (double lol) haha :).. kidding! not really hehe

I'm Yuzuru fan , I don't think the program will turn out bad or boring. Anyhow, I still think it is the same character of music like last 3 years ( dramatic character driven theme, drama broadway/ movie music). Please understand that Even though I critic his program choice, it doesn't mean I am hater and want to drag him down since because he is the rival of my favorite ( because Yuzu is my favorite). But I agree that we should see the program before complaining.

Btw, with this content, the chance of my heart attack rate during when watching him will be boosted through the roof.

you know, there's actually also a movie called War Horse  maybe we should check out the soundtrack
(I really should stop now, that competitive horse thing already gave me a mental image of riding chaps that's gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of the day...)

Woah, so many news... thanks a lot to everyone for posting videos and news!
I know I'm in the minority, but I'm really excited from what I saw and heard so far. 1.) I love POTO. It's an old warhouse, but at least the music is good. And of course people will complain, but they complain about original choices too. 2.) Yuzu wanted to skate to this music! Yeeeaaaahhhh!!! So happy to see him happy and passionate about this! 3.) Another choreographer. Dilson is good and everything, but I think it just didn't work that well for Yuzu. And I really like Shae Lynn. 4.) 3A-Lo-3S
That jumping layout really is insane... that BV alone would be 78.79 (assuming he does the 3T in the second half, in combo with either 4T, 3A or 3Lz...). Add in the spins and steps and... Who needs PCS?
And I like what I see of the choreo so far. That first 4T, and then the music after the landing! The SP was lovely too, so I'm one happy fan. Maybe (and hopefully) he'll surprise those who are unhappy with the music choice nonetheless :)

Personally I think Yuzuru doesn't feel much the character of Notre (mostly) Romeo 2.0 (somewhat)

It looked like David Wilson chose the music for him, and he didn't hate the music so he agreed with it. He tried his best to understand the program and that's his effort.

Notre and Romeo 2.0 show his struggle against his own stamina in the long program, not the characters he supposed to play.

I think with Phantom, it will be different, from the glimps of the program (news clip), I pretty much can see that he does feel the music from the inside. Like he has something connected to the character.

Not to mention the choreography is much different. So I think, even though it's still drama, it will be very different from his previous LP. This time, he seems to truly like the music and feels comfortable with it.

I don't assume that the program will be good or not good, just have a feeling it will be very interesting.

oh by no means that i meant that you're a hater since some of his fans (including me) are a bit skeptical too about his choice. and i saw some of your previous posts about yuzu on this thread :). i just cited what you had commented about the same character thing since i dont believe that its the same character.. well it was just my opinion :). peace ! :)

if it helps: I think I get what you mean. And I kinda agree. Maybe not the same, but very similar. That's probably why I'm still on Team Boredom because I was hoping for something very different. But we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out :)

He should use Dvorks New World Symphony as his LP, and not these overdone warhorses. They've already been beaten dead.
