Russian Test Skates 2014

Well I never saw it like that but one could go there...
The association I had- Snow princess or snow flake.
Maybe a bit underwearish but don't you think that the costume itself (say she's not wearing it) is beautifully detailed?
I on the other hand didn't like the pink one she switched to afterwards...
Firstly, I thought that this dress is just not age-appropriate (good, that Julia realised that the dress didn't look good and have worn it only once), but then i tried to imagine, who would look good in such dress and i actually haven't found any lady who would. But it's only my opinion.

I also want to notice that Julia has a good hairstyle (nothing special, but nice), and i like that she almost doesn't have any make-up.

Interesting how different tastes and perceptions can be.

I appreciate it too. She usually has a soft make up comparing to how other young skaters go on the ice (I won't mention the name I have in my mind, in general I find that female skaters usually put too much make up on their skin).

And dress up as master Yoda:laugh:?
Just imagine...
I'd like to see something that the judges won't forget. Something Here I Am! I think she has the character to pull this off, she's no little girl, especially not in her head ;)

I like this one.

So Dance will start today?

Regarding the costumes. In the end, it all comes down how they look in the arena, live, which is quite different how do they look in tv or picture.

p.s. I didn't like Yulia's white dress either, and she had too much make up there.
I loved the blue one. It's a very good color for her.

Something is probably off with twitter's geolocation since Sinitsina's last post has her in Canton again.

The one directly before it has her in Moscow, but I honestly couldn't guess if they're doing normal evaluations or if they have another time because they train overseas and didn't have a FD as of two weeks ago.

I am very excited to see the pictures - and eventually programs - for dance

Is it today in Russia yet? I cannot waiitttt.....

I don't know.
Me too! I would be very disappointed if we have no news at all, like it happened with men. :scowl:
I think Russian Fed officials knew about Anna P. video and maybe mad a big deal out of it? :disapp:
My ipad says in Moscow it's today already. I live in East Asia so we are earlier here.

The majority Russian seniors ladies who competed at Russian nationals have either two 3-3 combinations, or one 3-3 and then one 2A-3T combination. If she wants to have two 3-3 combinations (or one 3-3 and 2A-3T), she needs to use the toe loop only as a second jump in combination. She is allowed max two toe loops, so that means that the first jump of her 3-3 needs to be something else. That's the reason why she desperately needs 3F-3T, because then she can do also 2A-3T or repeat again 3F-3T. Leonova's problem is that edge jumps are her weakest point. She struggles with Salchows and loops. She lands some here and there, but if she can, she avoids them. Take notice, her SP is usually without edge jumps except of the compulsory axel, and her FS had as few Salchows and loops as possible. (sometimes she falls on them, sometimes she doubles them and very rarely she actually lands them). To have a program with seven triples like to majority of Russian senior ladies have, she needs to have every triple in her program at least once, so she needs the Salchow and loop too. There is not much point getting 3F-3T combinations if she ends up doing only five or six triples. So she needs to work on that.

Thanks for your detailed analyze regarding Leonova's tech content. I'm sure she works on it :) The other Russian ladies have to nail their jumps though, not just plan them. Let's see how Alena fares. I'm rooting for her to do well. It's not that I don't like the younger ones, just want some diversity. I really do like many of them, especially Radionova.

LOL, a bit hard to get the whole context(of Allen :)). Is she actually going to be Charlie? Anyway, I think the program will suit her. The Tango Free skate is about an abandoned woman... who finds happiness at the end. Fine that she is confident about the season. Looking forward to her "chaplinovskie" program at Nebelhorn

6:03 AM
Temperature is 10 Celsius.

 Very important for the outcome...
