Well, when I studied Romeo and Juliet I was 14 years old. And I thought it was the most stupid love story ever.

Well, maybe you were not in love, or thought to be as it happens often in these cases.

To me it was totally believable. And to think many people think I'm not a romantic person at all.

Adelina skated so well, and that footwork was amazing. I hope she wins everything this season.

Can't wait to see the rest of Adelina's program! She's really upped her game artistically. Her body is more fluid and expressive. The jumps look okay too (save for the pop on the salchow). I just wonder what she'll do in a rink without boards! (p.s. that ending = weird and kinda tacky... but then again, at least she's not waving at the audience!)

Yeah, I thought the ending was a bit weird and tacky too. I think it will be better without boards though.
The waving at the audience never bothered me tbh. It was spontaneous and I too thought it was cute.

I don't get it either, since interaction with the audience is pretty much a staple of a lot of good skaters. Plushenko blew them kisses. Jason looks around at them and gestures for them to join him as he gets ready for that Riverdance step sequence.

But I guess it's Adelina, and everything she does is truly evil.

The Rach 3 has been used by many but not the Piano Trio that was the start of Michelle's program and is, as you say, the exact same cut at the beginning of Elena's program. Maybe it's just the Kwan uber in me, but I really don't think anyone else can do justice to that music cut, or to the the Rach 3 section at the end, that worked so perfectly with Michelle's spiral sequence. And aside from the ghost of Kwan, I think the music is not right for Elena. I didn't see her personality shine through, like it did last season.

Even though Lori Nichol's music cuts were masterful, I actually thought they could've done more with the music

I'm not crazy about the whole cut, but I like that music for her. But I think it's way too early to talk about personality, at this stage.

It's because she "broke character" if that makes sense.
It isn't part of the choreo, she only does it when she's had a good skate.
It may not have looked that weird because it was a happy move, for a happy audience with happy music in the background.

Imagine if Yulia waved and grinned at the judges during Schindler's List. You know they get Component points for "playing a character", for interpreting the music.
And in the light of the controversy it looked even worse, like she waved at the judges and a bit "arrogant"

I don't think she'll run to the judges' board like this in the end, this was just for the audience at the test skates. She surely has a different ending for a competition

Wow, that's such a difference! The height discrepancy was really throwing B/L off, but they look lovely together. I don't mean this to be a backhanded compliment, but I'm surprised how unawkward he looks.

My dream team for russia is the "OLD" team ladies, Leonova, Sotnikova and Tuktamysheva.. all three girls are in excellent form for this season.. I hope these girls rock in every event... I love them!

It would be hard to bump Julia off if she is skating well. She has the hardest jumps and earns the most GOE on spins.

He lost weight also, quite a lot.

Sot and Tuk are still very young. Actually they're closer to Yulia an Radionova age rather than with Leonova.

And does anybody know why Kovtun was there but didn't skate at all?

Pogorilaya wasn't feeling well, but she'd be fine by Nebelhorn (info from Vaitsehovskaya's blog).
Kovtun got new boots.

New partners worked out for both. Bazarova really needs to land her jumps, it's not as one might have thought - Larionov doesn't go nowhere without Bazarova.

Davankova/Enbert and Ave Maria with Vocals ... this piece should be forbidden or it should be given a radical point deduction "Overused" isn't the right word for it ... it's overoverover.etc.pp............used - and with vocals it's getting even worse.
