What are you listening to right now?

Aaaaaaand as we move into the top 30 of the countdown, the skating standards and warhorses really start popping up. They just had Romeo and Juliet and are now playing Bolero...
And Swan Lake.

I am vacuuming through all kinds of 80s music. Just found some great David Sylvian stuff. His former band 'Japan' is criminally underrated.

Lost my Hannah early May.. she was blind, age 16+/- her time I guess

Such a great singer & song! RIP, David Clayton Thomas!

The only song I know from Taylor Swift but it makes me cry..
Beautiful Ghosts
From the film “Cats”…
In honor of her wedding

This piece by James Newton Howard (a screen composer I love even when the film doesn't work for me)

I do wish someone would find this and skate to it, someone who can do ethereal and shimmery beauty.

I know several of hers, all from fanvids for my tv or web shows: they are great fun but I don't think they suit a happy couple setting out...

I am NOT a fan at all.. she and her “art” are both not of my era, me being so much older. However her wedding was an attention getter and was happy for the couple. I had a wake up call that she was “unpopular”in some circles (ahem) when I made a two word congratulatory comment on a FB post and got a vile response from a questionable source. Checking other like much longer responses to mine on the same post I noted that the vile individual had singled me out for comment… scary, but also made me angry. Social media is a late life experience for me and, at times, is a huge eye-opener in vulnerability and anonymity. My comment was super mild compared to others yet I felt targeted by someone with an agenda… they are out there😬

I am afraid that Welsh icon Bonnie Tyler died yesterday, a month after turning 75.

To be honest, it wasn't a total surprise, given the major health issues she has had in the past few months. But her death still came as a major shock.

It's a well known cliché that the Welsh are great singers. But Bonnie Tyler was something else. What a voice!

She had many great songs. But as my tribute, I can't not post her iconic masterpiece:

Bonnie Tyler - "Total Eclipse Of The Heart"

I have always loved that song.

My thoughts are with her family, friends and fans.

As soon as I started to play the song, in my mind I was back skating one of our favourite show programs to that. It was a natural for pairs -- effortlessly choreographed itself. I hadn't thought of it for years. I'll have to take along the music today and we'll try to run through it again in tribute to her for providing such a skateable piece of music and lyrics. 😢

I'm in shock. Probably the most famous person from my county, actor Sam Neill, has died at the age of 78.

Although I have seen him in many things over the years, I will always associate him with one particular role. When he played one of the main characters in the film that defined my childhood.

With that in mind, I just had to listen to it's iconic theme after hearing the news:

John Williams & The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra - "Jurassic Park"

That music gets me every time I hear it.

Thank you, Sam, for being somebody that we in Tyrone could look up to, and be proud to say that you were one of our own.

My thoughts go out to all his family, friends, and fans.
