HAPPY BELATED 93rd BIRTHDAY SHANI!!!
I only discovered last night that "Britain's Got Talent" has a companion show on ITV2 again, called "Britain's Got Talent Unseen". (The previous companion show, "Britain's Got More Talent", was scrapped in 2019). So tonight, I started catching up on the episodes I had missed.
And I am so glad I decided to watch them. Because we saw this:
Shani Wallis - "As Long As He Needs Me"
Yes. The same Shani Wallis that we all fell in love with when she played Nancy in "Oliver!" (1968).
Even though she was now 92, anybody who has seen the film would have recognised her as soon as they saw her. Apart from the effects of getting older, she hasn't changed at all in the past 58 years!
Here she is singing the same song in the film:
Shani Wallis - "As Long As He Needs Me"
To be honest, I think she is even better at it now than she was then!

And I just made a discovery. It was her birthday on Tuesday! So:
HAPPY BELATED 93rd BIRTHDAY SHANI!!!

I don't know whether to applaud or cry. As a former part-time-professional singer with a much more obscure but OK career, my voice is past it by now. I'd probably make a hash of remembering lyrics. And don't get me started on her appearance. I'm certainly not going to look that youthful in another [(mumbles)thirtyyearsorso]. But thanks for discovering this and posting it!

Nope, not working psychologically, I'm afraid.)
