Looking good for G&D (it's his first international competition!).

Monko / Khaliavin had 3 deductions in the OD---probably a fall by both plus a lift or time deduction.

They are almost 6 points out of 4th place, and I doubt they can make up that much ground in the FD. You have to wonder what is happening to the Russian teams. Riazanova / Guerreiro unexpectedly fell in both OD and FD, and now M/K wiped out in the OD.

Patti Gottwein. Her married name is Gottwein-Britton and she also co-coaches Piper's older brother, Todd, and his partner Jane Summersett (Summersett/Gilles will compete at Nebelhorn Trophy and Skate America).
