 Personally I think he just wants to come back and show people that he still can skate at elite level, he hates to withdraw like what happened at Sochi. I am worried about his health, though. Can you tell us how then managed to get out of the prison for killing?
Now serious, those generations of Russian male skaters had loads of opportunities to show what they can, as Plushenko was very seldom at worlds and when he was at euros he brought 3 places back for next year, so 2 places were for other, he didn't competed on 3 places at the same time .
This argument is one of the silliest i hear! If they cannot get over one skater (and also an aging skater) how they will get over loads of young skaters on the international scene?

Huh? So it's his fault the Russian skaters got such terrible results post-2006? His (so-debated-it-created-a-rule-change) silver was the best result Russia got in figure skating at Vancouver, across four disciplines. The "generations" of Russian skaters got plenty of chances--Worlds, Europeans, over the past eight years. They faltered the whole time because Plush put a curse on them? That's news to me.Let's continue to kill another generation of Russian male figure skaters (he already did one or two)....

I don't disagree with anything in your post (for once ), but I'd just like to point out: I doubt he created that free skate because he was "running out of ideas." He created it because it was his final Olympics, in his home country, and that free skate was his final farewell. Seriously, why would you skate to your own greatest hits collection for any other reason? For these four years, Sochi has been his endgoal. He's fought and fought through injuries get there. I thought that free skate was the most fitting swan song. Unfortunately, he couldn't end his career the way he had always intended, so now he's back... maybe... we'll see...(I mean, his FS was literally a re-hash of his past programs, after all).
Yagudin is envy of him. Plushy is doing much more things than Yagudin. Yagudin is always talking about his plans and what he is doing? He performs in Averbukh shows. Plushy is a creative man, plus he has a fantastic wife Yana Rudkovskaya, he will never be bored next to Yana. He has four sons, four dogs, one cat, he adores every sports, actually he likes to play golf in amateur tournaments. And he wins, of course...What does he want to prove to us, exactly? Zhenya, you've got 4 Olympic medals and years of brilliance. Figure skating is only a moment in life. You're body's going to stay with you till the end. Now I kind of agree with what Yagudin said about him. He apparently doesn't know what else to do besides figure skating.
But he loves to skate and compete and has no desire to stop yet. Is there something wrong with that, for someone who has been a figure skater all his life and is still earning respectable results (when healthy)? Of course I am concerned about his body, but I think he is smart enough to respect his limits.

If Plushy became a technical specialist, we would have lots of headlines like this:I think he would be an excellent jump coach or technical specialist. I'm sure that he probably has a lot of endorsements in Russia as well. I think he's just a ham who doesn't want to cede the spotlight.
His last competitive performance was one where he quit due to injury, and he came under a lot of fire for it. Hardly the way he wanted to go out.
