And Mervin's pivot is just perfect!

The lifts and the twist were really good too, but they have to do something to learn a better second throw. And if only they were better jumpers. Still, Marissa finally managed to tack a 2t onto her 3t.

US Figure Skating did not do a great job of promoting this series of interviews. I had no idea it existed, and since only 33 people had viewed the youtube of it, I am guessing some of you haven't either.

It is a really good one.

USFS social media has been promoting each video in this series when it is published. :)

IIRC, the series is only a week old, more or less.
The first video was with Mariah Bell, and its publication was tied to Skate America.
Another one was with Adam, tied to Skate Canada.
 
They have outstanding chemistry, that much was on display at Skate Canada. I thought their performance there was a step in the right direction. Keep up the hard work Mervissa!

Yes, their death spiral is awesome. And their skating skills are excellent too, right? (I'm not making that up? in my head?)
 
Just wanted to say that in today's chill weather their Summertime warmed me. So beautiful. Really quality choregraphy, smooth moves and great skating skills. Wish them good luck. Hope to see more of them soon. :)

Thank you for the videos. Really looking forward to seeing their partnership develop this season. They are my favorite US pair. Hope they have been practicing their side by side jumps! :laugh:

Was it just my imagination, or did Mervin really struggle on the throws? It seemed he almost didn't have the strength sometimes, and his follow through didn't seem accurate. Maybe he needs some more weight lifting sessions!
 
I suspect that they learned different techniques with previous partners. It takes a while some times.
