Well, we all expected it coming, still it’s very sad that we now have offical confirmation that Adian had to retire as a single skater. Since this is probably one of the last posts regarding his career as a single skater, I thought I should bring up some links with his best skates from 2012 till his last successful competition:
RN 2012 SP (season 12/13, his first senior nationals): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9dp6XoILbY
RN 2012 LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QJLXvw8-co
RN 2013 SP (season 13/14): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vHT4XAOsY8
Junior Worlds 2014 LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfkqg0lRXbU
Trophee Bompard 2014, LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKrgtvS0t6I – well, if it comes to technique Adian had better skates. But I really like that he totally loosened up here at the end. The final step sequence reminded me a bit of Sasha Abt’s final sequence in his great Armenian Dance SP.
Still adding Euros 2015 LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk9RKrUPEIQ with some beautiful jumps and sure one of Adian’s competitive highlights despite he had such a hard or basically no proper preparation for this competition.

JW 2015, SP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNFsO7vO4To (anyone else notices the growth sprint Adian made since JW in 2014?)

Even with a short career, you’ll be so well remembered as a single skater, Adian!
In that little interview announcing his retirement from single skating Adian by the way mentioned that he tried to solve his back condition and visisted a lot of doctors, but his back problem seems to be chronic and that he just can't jump at all any longer at a serious level. The maximum strain his back seems to tolerate is a 3A, which is not enough for today’s competitive skating.
Trying out ice dance now at age 19 is a serious challenge and I respect Adian even more for this. Shows how much he loves this sport and how much he is dedicated to stay on the ice (and actually that his character is quite different from how it has been portrayed in a recent interview ). Just wish him all the best for any of his future plans. I’ll set up a fan project for him right now and will post a little more details later on.
