2026 Bavarian Open | Jan 27 - Feb 1

The 2026 Bavarian Open is set to take place January 27 - February 1, 2026, in Oberstdorf, Germany.

It will feature the Singles & Pair skating and Ice Dance (Novice, Junior and Senior) disciplines and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations, and relevant ISU Communications.

Some nice names in the line up. Surprised there are so few Dutchies, usually the Bavarian Open is quite popular among skaters in our country. Good to see Leon Lo (adv novice boys) will have some competition though!

So I was wondering if Milla and Nikolaj would do it this year going into Olympics, and they are on the list. I thought it might be to close but I assume now that Milla has her citizenship they can spend and train more time in Oberstdorf, so they won´t need to travel for this competition at least.

I've not even got through Four Continents because I was away at the weekend, and hey presto, ANOTHER event pops up!

But you have to pay so maybe I'll skip it.

Currently it's getting to the stage of figure skating overload and the Olympics is on our doorstep!

I know Megan Woodley is having issues getting to the competition (Jeffrey Buttle was tweeting about their flights being cancelled after the snow in Toronto). It's good to see Grayson was able to get there safely.

Great to see Jazmine and Kieran win a gold medal. Olivia and Luke again had a bit of a rough international competition but happy they got the silver. Also, Hannah and Ivan nice to see get a medal in their first season together
