2011-2012 Program Stuff

I can't wait to see him fly with this music!

Me too! I am thrilled about this music choice and choreographers! I'm especially looking for to his LP. I think it's gonna be a great season for Taka

Not sure what Rock-Blues for K/S is, can anyone find the artist? Also, I love that they're using Clair de Lune again, that program was not rated as highly as it should have been. Perhaps they can add more technical difficulty? It's easily their best work.

Rock/Blues is the style; not the song name. No one said the name of the song or artist (maybe they didn't know) both programs are choreographed by Peter Tchernyshev. Their LP doesn't need any more technical difficulty, until worlds they had the 2nd highest frees skate score, I just hope they change the choreography enough. Like taking out the 2 double axel sequences and putting in the 2 triple toe sequences or trying a 3T+2A. Other than that I just want to see them perform it injury free for a change.

When the video started, there was "the garden of souls" on the screen. Is that the name of the program? the music (which sounded flamenco to me)?

I've finished updating the men's, ladies, and pairs in the other list.

I also added programs for a number of Japanese senior men & ladies as well.

Dai's stuff is as lovely as always. Still I have to say that HE could do better. Actually much better. His Techno Swan and Coba Eye had way more character. In his new SP I see moves and stuff that I have already seen from him before. Not so much oriental in his SP. Also, I am not sure that the music choice was the right one in the first place (the music is not flamenco, it's VAS stuff, with their Persian "alternative world" flavour or somesuch).
On the other hand I am sure that compared to the modern trend "elements for money" established by no-character skating of Chan, the new SP of Dai will look like a masterpiece no doubt.

Dai's short finally.

The comment says that Dai plans to have a quad in short too.

i believe, that his jump rotation got much quicker. Having a bolt taken out from his knee, i guess he will get back his quads this year.

Great program. I don't think its one of his masterpieces, but the music sets up his jumps, which look amazing, so well. I hope Dai can dominate this season!

Thanks. I pray that he is going to get his quads back. It is the beginning of the season, so I am sure this program will mature a lot more.
Like other members on the board, I also feel this program lacks in innovative moves that we all saw in Eye e.or Swan Lake.Maybe David will add something. Dai can handle a lot more than this.

Am I the only one to feel that Dai's "bacholorrett" should be his short in some season? That's the true choreographic masterpiece imo:)

A beautiful program, but.....

You have my two cents here. Bachelorette had so many great movements that only Kenji Miyamoto and Daisuke could create together.

His new short program, while it's beautiful and has a great step sequence, lacks such movements; something only Daisuke can do. I love the music choice. But I thought pieces were mixed too much, creating a sort of a blur. Especially during the step sequence, I would have loved to hear only the drums, so we could focus on his footwork. He did so in Eye and Mambo, as well as Swan Lake.

Still, I'm looking forward to see this program in a competition! Maybe he will add a move or two.

Thanks for the video clip. Dai's skating imo is just fabulous. The only criticism I have of the program
is his donut spin. Dai does not do it well and it takes away from an otherwise smooth and beautiful flowing program.
I know he is doing it for the points but....

I am not into scrutinizing the program, especially pre-season and from this camera work. What I see is an ease and lightness to his jumps and glides, more than the last couple of seasons when busy wonderful footwork might have taken the place of smooth speedy edgy glide. It's a refreshing change from the Latin beats of late. I think it showcases his skating skills and emotional connection to the music very well. And it is only going to get better. I also feel Dai's motivation is back.

Takahiko Kozuka
SP: Inner Urge by Joe Henderson / Choreo by David Wilson
FS: Fantasia for Nausicaa by Joe Hisaishi / Choreo by Marina Zueva

OMG!

PERFECT! After those awful programs last year, Kozuka shall return to his musical and sensitive side. World Champion. Please!

I have to admit, as much as I enjoy Hisaishi, I never cared for Nausicaa, but I understand that Kozuka chose and cut the music himself, so I'm very curious what he comes up with.

Chan's doing "Aranjuez." Cue the collective teeth gnashing.

Your welcome. It is my joy to share opinions about Dai.

Yea, donut spin, some Dai's fan call it dee-nuts spin.
I know it does not flow so natural, but I guess Dai lost so many points last season on spins,so it can not be helped?

Judges gave only level 2 or something, saying that his spin was upright, not lay back . So mean.
I hope David will come up with something so that Dai can get level 4.

But the last spin is just gorgeous!!

I agree, it was a great spin, best I have seen from Dai.
