OMG Mirai went (almost) ENTIRELY CLEAN. I realized tonight that watching her for me is like watching Sasha used to be- so nerve wracking- BUT unlike Sasha who always fell Mirai did not and I can breathe easy!!! She is such a more mature skater now but she is getting some of her old energy and exuberance back. Briefly toward the end she smiled like Mirai of 2 years ago I was so happy.

Ok I will stop gushing/freaking out now. Go Mirai!

oh no, it looks like from the replay she got an edge call on the lutz, a downgrade on the 3T on the 2A-3T, possibly underrotations on others

I'm impressed with Nagasu's jumps, all getting good height. I think she could be bolder and even more stoic to reflect the music. She will need to work on the landings.

On the bright side if she did get all that it is a great score in a way. I just think this is such an improvement either way. SO happy for Mirai. She is getting her mojo back :)

Omgwtf@ mirai's score

im tired of this crap

Having seen the jumps on replay I think the score was probably fair/good.

I am sure she will be happy with this at least somewhat. She gets some prize money and is getting credibility back with the judges. One step at a time for her now.

Mao is GORGEOUS. It is surreal to watch her. She floats. Crowd is going crazy and rightly so.

Solid program. Did she repeat a spin again or did I miss something?

Do 4th place finishers get prize money, (assuming Julia also medals)?

A little scratchy on the ending footwork, but I thoroughly enjoyed Mao's performance. She rarely let a note go by without interpreting it in some way. She will definitely get a full downgrade on the triple toe, and her double lutz won't serve her well. I imagine a 114 or so.

Ok now I get to worry about little Julia... hope she can be as consistent here as she always has...
