Actually Jason Brown has been consistently OK as well, if you look at his overall scores, no huge score jerks. But both are capable of scoring higher.

If we take scores, then Jason and Kovtun are consistently okay.

But if we take "how they skated," I guess we can still say there's no consistent pattern. Kovtun would nail an SP and stumble through a free (CoC), melt down in the SP and come back with a free (TEB), then kinda stutter his way through both (GPF). Jason would skate well but get URs (Nebelhorn), make some mistakes on both programs (SA), or mess up the SP and nail the free (CoR).

no, I understand you. This was a performance in which I think Hanyu was concentrating first on his elements and second on emoting. After having such a rough start, he needed to not 'get lost' in the emotions of the program to the detriment of completing his elements.
I hope to see more emotion from this beautiful program soon.
