2014 Finlandia Trophy

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva 67.05. Better than at Nebelhorn Trophy. Oh, she is so good now. I am a fan of hers.

So so happy for Eliza! :)

So gutted I couldn't be there to see that live :(

Nice score from Liza!! Hope she consistantly gets those scores and gains her sensational debut season form back!!

Well done Efimenko. Her and Saarinen are the hope of Finland in ladies skating, which was a big force once. (Missing Lepistö, Poykiö and healthy Kiira)

Cesario is one of my favorites among current US ladies. Her artistry and skating skills are great but unfortunately her jumps aren't :(

Probably a underrotation/downgrade galore for Samantha, it would surprise me :frown:

OTOH, Liza! Two good short programs in a row, I think the last time it happend was during her senior debut season! She even improved her personal best again!

Eliza killed it, she really was enjoying performing that program and her jumps are huuuuge! But that dress.... ugh :(

How the hell she have only 5 points more than Chen in Croatia. That's just ridiculous

I'm so glad to hear that! - even more so than her great score; considering how nervous she used to get during her SPs - it's scarcely too much to say that they were her nemesis. So looking forward to vid of this! :)

The difference between a 3T-3T and a 3L-2T is less than two points (8.2 v. 6.4). Karen also does a lutz in the second half while Liza does not (.6 difference). Karen makes up the rest in spins + GOE.

Their TES is only one point difference. The rest is PCS.

Which I find even more ridiculous :) No offence to Chen of course.

Edit: Anyway congrats to Liza! She did really great! With performances like this one during the season I hope she will crack 70s. She deserves it IMO. Both her technical skills and presentation are on top level.

Well done Liuba and Jenni. It is good to notice Finland has two promising young skaters. Liuba has a good chanse for a medal.

I like Lizas short program more and more. She is not a princess and that choreography and dress are her style.

Liza's jumps are great, but Karen's lutz and axel was good.

BV is one point different (30.43 Liza, 29.33 for Karen). Liza got +1 GOE on her jumps and step. Karen got +1 on her lutz, axel and layback, and was close to +1 on another spin.

Liza :yay: , and poor Samantha, her score is really low, and what about Alena, she is not competing?

Looking at protocals, Samantha got hosed on levels (level 2 and 3 on steps/spins) plus an edge call on the lutz.

I'm surprised she's going for the lutz given she is a clear flutzer, but it makes sense if she's trying to do the 3F-3Lo. I wonder though if she would be money ahead to aim for 3Lo-3Lo and 3F or even 3F-3Lo and 3S in the second half (BV of a 3Sx is 4.62, which the BV for a 3Ze.)
