2014 Lombardia Trophy

My impression - Ladies were underscored, especially Miyahara.
Except Joshi Helgesson - she overscored. Nice skating better than before (she progressed), but not so good jumps.

Viktoria Helgesson - she regresses while her sister progresses, best for Viktoria is to retire. She was in European top (and once was in Top 10 at Worlds), but it is in the past.

My feed is too choppy to get anything...how did she do? I know she's at the top, but how was Satoko's performance?

Underrotated 3flip but otherwise okay... Clean skate. She still really needs to work on getting more height into her jumps. (also, it might just be me but I think she grew a bit taller from the last time I've seen her perform).

On the plus side, her 3Lz-3T combination looked much better to me that last year (and she got full credit for it + positive GOE).
Her PCS are still a joke, though (6.35 in SS, really?)

Her 3Lz-3T improved imo too.

Satoko's PCS is underscored/undervalued. :| She deserves higher scores. Still holding out hope she gets better, much more deserved scores for her FS tomorrow.

I'll join the camp, that Miyahara was underscored a bit in PCS. For the dress, I recommend a closer look at Roberta Rodeghieros dress: blue with white/silver.

The Helgeson sisters, I think mainly Joshi was overscored in PCS, Victoria to a lesser extent. Now, with Victoria 'regressing' it seems like the judges move their 'slightly overscoring' from the older to the younger sister. Perhaps it's just my taste ... and the judges doing fine.

It what world can a skater skate a full Free skate without a six minute warm-up and in spotlights?

And with 8 triples & 2 double Axels to boot!

I love this program, especially the second part. This was probably the first program where I thought "wow, if you know how to edit the music well, the lyrics can really add to the performance". And the placement of the spiral within the music is perfect. Great job from Tom Dickson. :)

Woah. Was there a flu? or the plague? :p:confused:

I really enjoyed both Hochstien and Dornbush. Totally different programs, but will suited to each skater.

Michael Christian Martinez posted on his FB that he doesn't feel ready (he had missed some months of training this year), but he still managed to be there...so good for him.

Darn it, I was really looking forward to Brezina. I wonder what happened.

Grant Hochstein was a nice surprise. And too bad for Ricky's fall on the quad, but the rest of the program was pretty nice. I would love to see him on the podium here.

Keep those reports coming guys, my live streaming is even worse.... I am just live in viewing the results
