Your reasoning makes sense to me. I also have the feeling Yuna, despite her clean and beautiful program, looks less motivated than 4 years ago. I feel her program kind of boring and predictable. On the other hand, Adelina skated like she truly want it, she knew to raise the audience's mood when she waved her hand, smart move, I don't know if that help her get high PCS anyways, maybe.
And Mao should have gotten 148 points at least.

I still don't get the argument that Sotnikova's "wanting it badly" equals PCS in the caliber of Kim\ Kostner and Asada, She was very passionate, Yes
But it was also coming across like that due to the crowd behind her (For being russian, A smart move indeed), And also, YOu know, That's not PCS.

Completely agree. And today's free skate just proved that she not deserve that 3rd spot over Mirai.

She was the best American lady at any given international event for 2 years,
She deserved to go, Mirai not so much.

Ashley's FS today on Olympic ice got better scores then Mirai's on National ice,
What does that prove ?

Russians knew what was gonna happen, so they were interchangeable. Japanese have such a strong team, they could afford to send anyone cause they knew if they skated up to potential, they'd be in medal contention.

Seriously I couldn't buy this idea. Japan has a strong team, yes, but then why they came last in the team event? Do you know that most members of team Japan will retire after Sochi? Daisuke, Mao... All the veterans of Japanese team rarely have the chance for the gold in singles, (except for Mao and Yu, who is famous for their jumps) and they must have know it at the time. Technically that means winning a gold at team even must have more meaning than individual. Especially when it came to Japanese people who always put individual behind the crowd.
If you are referring to Hanyu winning the gold in male single, then I wouldn't buy it either. Hanyu did really well in SP, not that I like the program and his choice of music, but he did really well, he deserves the record. As for the free skate, Patrick Chan would have won if he did not fall 3 times (still mad at him for not pulling himself together for that gold). I like Chan (because he is more all-rounded) but technically he gave the gold back. No conspiracy here.
Not to mention, Plushenko was supposed to take part in male single event, he withdrew right before it start. If Russian federation had any plan for him to win the medal, then the plan shattered anyways.

I just watched Yuna's program with Sandra and Scott's commentary. It was even more beautiful than before. It was even more spectacular the 2nd time. The foot work was better than the other ladies that night. Yuna deserved the gold 100%.

I think the face she gave after finishing her Worlds 2013 FS kind of gave that up , This entire round was a lot less exciting for her it looks

That's actually a good point.

I think Ashley had two solid skates and I don't think Mirai would have done that much better. Kanako got HOSED in URs by the judges -- I think Mirai would have fared even worse.

I actually was most struck by Mao's footwork. It was my favorite of the night.

That's the only thing I've gotten to see so far and I found myself in tears by the end. I can't wait to see the rest.

It is funny, I watched the whole final flight but barely noticed Ashley. After all the talk about all the scrutiny she would get at these Games after the controversy of her selection to the team she was almost invisible here. Just quietly did a solid but unspectacular competition, finished about where she was expected (7th) and goes home

Nagasu would not have even finished top 10 even with a good competition and would have needed a good one to even finish 10-13 range and not even lower, so obviously the USFSA did make the right choice to send Ashley.

Just watched the replay on NBC with different eyes after knowing the outcome. Yuna was gorgeous and would have been my choice for gold! Mao brought me to tears. Gracie has a nice look on the ice and barring the fall, she had a beautiful skate. Looking forward to next Olympics I think the team competition should go. Am I the only one who thinks this?

I agree with her TES. I just question her high PCS. I have stated my opinion about this matter many times.
And for being passionate, it shows in all her moves, the energy and youthfulness, all the needed qualities that makes people like her performance, if that is not counted, then I don't know what is. The mood that she created when performed, it really helped her. It make people at the stadium find it convincing. I also find her performance electric and pleasing to watch.
What I wanted to say is, if the PSC score is indeed not planned, and the judges simply like Adelina's performance better, because they sense the fire, the energy or anything special, then might be it's the effect of the crowd, they were cheering erratically. Anyways, I am still confused over her PCS anyways.
