2014 Skate America SD 10/24

Holy score!

I don't get how that was SO much better that the Shibs...

Really enjoyed your live comments, Doggygirl!

Darn it! I was looking forward to Nationals being a battle between C/B and the Shibs...

It seems like the Shibs caved a bit under the pressure or something? They didn't look happy with their performance at the end, that's for sure. Still the best dressed for the paso, tho!

I'm happy Madison and Evan scored so well since I'd like to see an American team in the mix for medals at Worlds. I thought their lift looked a lot smoother here than it did at Nebelhorn, too.

Any one know who is speaking in the arena? It sort of sounds like an interview?

Sounds like Rusty. He's sometimes at Nationals too. He does interviews and kids around to entertain the crowd during the down time between segments.

It wasn't, but that's skating,
Let's see the protocols, Shibs lost 2.5 points on something before scoring,

I wonder if Orford\Williams could pull off a Bronze here

I agree that Alex was super intense today and Maia was a bit off, but the Shib's only had one unison mistake. Chock and Bates had a lot more little ones and were awarded so much... I really would've gave the SD to the Shibs. The choreo wasn't even there for Chock and Bates.

Sad that this is Chock and Bates GP to lose now... At least I enjoy both of their FDs and get to see Chock use Bates as a stripper pole in the FD

Dang it, I had to step away before the Shibs and C/B skated. Did the Shibs have any problems with their program?

The short dance is all about the levels and Igor knows how to train his skaters to achieve this. Performance wise C/B has a slight edge over the Shibs IMHO, but it was the TES that really put them over the top. They have really put in the work on this SD from Nebelhorn. Gots to say C/B have two really competitive programs this season. Keep it up guys!!

Though I love Shibs as always, I can't help falling in love with Madison:love:
The atmosphere she create on the ice:bow:( and I want her face!)

How does a team even get level one twizzles? S/b need new coaches or just do whatever everyone else is doing.

The mirror twizzles look terrible I hope I don't see them return. Plus, I think it'll be hard to judge them compared to traditional twizzles, and the last thing we need is more confusion for both judges and skaters.

On the other hand, Stepanova/Bukin's sitting twizzle looked incredible. I guess the level had something to do with the (lack of) ice coverage, or that's what my commentator implied. I hope they keep working on it and get the levels. I'd be really sad to see it go...

Feed died on me right before the Shibutanis' skate... I'll have to look up the videos again later. Managed to catch Chock/Bates on a different feed. Good elements, decent presentation, but those screams (whether they came from him or the music) really need to go.

FWIW, most of the point difference is in TES. So I think it's a levels thing.

You're right, levels it was. Plus some insane goe (especially their twizzles)

Whatevs, I'm just happy that Cannuscio/McManus went over the TES limit

It was Rusty. He showed up on IceDesk Live (or whatever the exact name is) to greet John Coughlin and say hello. PS That of course started 15 minutes late, as it often seems to...
