2014 Skate America SD 10/24

You're right, levels it was. Plus some insane goe (especially their twizzles)

Whatevs, I'm just happy that Cannuscio/McManus went over the TES limit

The Shibs got pretty good GOE aside from the twizzles. The Shibs put themselves out of contention with the Paso sequences, and they knew it.

Though I love Shibs as always, I can't help falling in love with Madison:love:
The atmosphere she create on the ice:bow:( and I want her face!)

Spanish dances require a range of emotions; passion, playfulness, flirtatiousness, soft and hard. This plays to Madison's strengths I believe. The Shibs were a bit too nervous after the twizzle mistake and maybe in general a bit too intense (one note) for the entire dance. But needless to say I found both dances enjoyable. Yeah the season has begun!!

C/B skating skills should be at least 1 point ahead of S/S. Watch them back to back and compare how deep the edge of C/B to S/S. It was not even close.

The pattern dances have always been a struggle for them since Igor left. I am sure they will bounce back handily in the FD.

wow c and b could win world gold look at their marks. W and p make errrors and the Italians barely won gold last year

I'm actually more shocked that C/B has progressed that much. Chock used to have average skating skills. I can see the improvement.

I missed the whole second group since my computer decided to perform mandatory updates. :( Any videos anywhere, or an archived stream?

The mirror twizzles look terrible I hope I don't see them return. Plus, I think it'll be hard to judge them compared to traditional twizzles, and the last thing we need is more confusion for both judges and skaters.

On the other hand, Stepanova/Bukin's sitting twizzle looked incredible. I guess the level had something to do with the (lack of) ice coverage, or that's what my commentator implied. I hope they keep working on it and get the levels. I'd be really sad to see it go...

Feed died on me right before the Shibutanis' skate... I'll have to look up the videos again later. Managed to catch Chock/Bates on a different feed. Good elements, decent presentation, but those screams (whether they came from him or the music) really need to go.

S/b can't risk a level one again! Better go to igor and marina and see what they say about making it level 4.

Welcome back Mao! You have been missed!
:)

S/b have created something like the tano or rippon lutz- the Stepukin Twizzle! Good for them!

Yeah, that was really cool! :) It's too bad they were so marked down on their twizzle levels.

Was it her problem with the board smash? Is it just the nature of the move? Is it just a level one? It would be so bad if the only twizzle variation in COP history was a level one.

Poor shibs, but their score is really good, what happened in general with the scores?, i remember last season they were getting 55, 58 with clean skates, same with c/b.

Thanks for the videos, Mao88! I finally got to watch C/B and the Shibutanis.

With the Shibs -- it's a shame about their levels and the mistake on the twizzles, but it looks like they would have been about tied with C/B had those been in order. I know they'll fix that for the next competition, so I'm not worried. Also, I LOVED their whole presentation. I'm so used to them being cute and young, but I thought they really brought the attitude tonight. This was much more adult than I've ever seen them. Bravo!

C/B: I'm sort of uninspired by them. I like the program, but I dunno. It left me feeling flat. And on a shallow note, Madison is absolutely gorgeous, but she needs a hairstyle for this program. If you take out the flower, her hair looks exactly like mine when I go on a grocery store run. Get a hairpiece and rock a fabulous bun with a red rose in it, girl.
