2014 Worlds - Ladies Short Program

Seriously Kim Yuna retired already. She is not in the competition anymore, so why some Korean still drag her into this just for the sake of hating other skaters? :bang:

That's sad. They should put all those efforts to support other Korean skaters. Even Dabin Choi from Junior looks very promising.

So... why is Adelina commenting on Worlds as opposed to skating in it? (Sorry if this has been discussed to death already).

FWIW, she is probably not in Japan, but watching it on screen in Russia.

They attack Mao on facebook too. Both ISU facebook and ISU magazine. They even attack Hanyu and Machida in the post about men event. Seriously Kim Yuna retired already. For sure Kim Yuna does not want her fans to act like that. Sorry Korean fellows on this forum, but I can't stand Kim fanatics fans reactions at all. I find their attitude ugly, and I am not even Mao's fan.

I just checked
yep even on facebook ISU and Skating Magazine
they are dragging the Mao comedy score-JPN money :rolleye:

On facebook, many comments in Men Event's post are Korean, other comments in English but with Korean names are all negative. I am so annoyed because that is the MEN Event, not the ladies, why did they bother go there, just for the sake of bullying Japanese MALE skaters? are they out if their minds?

Then in post about Ladies SP, lots of Koreans fans are saying like: "she is not worthy, she will never be like Kim" OMG I am so frustrated at such attitude. Kim Yuna herself is classy, then why some of her fans couldn't be like that?

Are you seriously believing what sky_fly says against anything Yuna-related.. I've just watched Mao's wonderful SP (scores don't matter to me at this point) and I did not see a single negative comment from anyone. (I've used Google translator for Japanese/Korean. )

Edit: Oh, wow. You = sky_fly?

Is it safe to assume that if Mao goes clean (or close to clean) in tmrw's LP, she'll set a new WR?

I think so! Her technical base is extremely high, I thought she was underscored in her PCs at the Olympics so if she skates clean and gets the PCs she deserves she could set a new WR

I'm so excited, Mao's FS is my favourite this season

I found myself thinking that if Yu-na were here and skated the same short as at Olys, she wouldn't be 1st or even 2nd..

Yeah, I am sorry for being so naive. I know lots of Korean fans are nice here. It's just the attitude on facebook is so crazy. A friend of mine, who is a fanatics Kim's fan, and he is currently studying in Korea, he has just joined the stupid attack on Mao. He said something like: "Mao will never be equal to Kim. Her SP is not worthy such score. Her posture looks ugly. Kim's 007 is better." And I was reading all the comments related with huge frustration. You know that, I am not even Mao's fan. The only female skater that I like at the moment is Julia. The attack on Mao just appears on my dash, it's hard to ignore.

Chances are they are not really skating fans but uber-nationalists.

I doubt your friend even watched Mao's SP in this event. Did you ask?

I don't get why your getting so worked up about the activities of fanatical fans. Why don't Beliebers stop attacking and sending death threats to Bieber "haterz"? Why doesn't the Beyhive stop slamming anyone who criticizes Beyonce? Celebrity figures will always have their share of crazy, out-of-their-minds uberfans.

At least I have never been any idol-hater. I am just against any kind of bullying.

Well, he has studied figure skating in Korea for 2 years. He knows the rules very well. It's not that he is Mao anti-fan. He was very supportive of her when she fell terribly at Sochi. But today when Mao broke the record he just went crazy then all the bad talk about Japan federation. He is a skater so of course he watched Mao's SP today.

eh.. OK. So he went crazy about Japan federation, not Mao?

Edit: Look, I don't want this conversation. I just don't think it's appropriate. sky_fly knows how to provoke even when there is nothing and there is no reason to follow her lead like a sheep.

She IS in Japan. Sotnikova, Volosozhar and Trankov are all there. They are, like, special guests. At least that's what russian commenters said yesterday and today.

She's not skating because she is tired, and Federation decided to give a chance to young Pogorilaya. At least that's what Gorshkov, the president of the federation, said. You can find more info (on russian only) here: http://www.sports.ru/others/figure-skating/158708172.html

It's best just to ignore them if you can, although I know that's much easier said than done. As Mrs. P pointed out, they're probably raving nationalists, not real skating fans. Relax and enjoy the competition -- don't let them spoil it for you!

Bad talk about Mao' SP on ISU's facebook fanpage, too. He said Mao's spin is ugly and boring and nothing new etc. I just happen to see it. Actually I can understand if Kim and Mao both competed in this event. Mao's fans also have some crazy attitude, too. But... It's just so inappropriate because Kim retired already, Mao's achievement here means nothing to Kim's legacy at all. Actually I was surprised by the haters on facebook today.
