2014 Worlds - Ladies Short Program

She actually will skate in the last group. With 69+ she could have had a chance. But not with this.

But I'm not saying she will get the same scores as the rest of the last group. I'm just saying she might get something more in PCS.

Both Akiko and Julia flutzed and got away with it.

Ashley should stop attempting the 3F-3T. She cannot rotate that 3T. I haven't seen the protocol yet, but the 3T was about half a rotation short, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got downgraded (<<.)

What motivation would the judges have for ignoring Yulia's flutz? It looked clean to me. She wasn't called in the GPF for it in the FS.

I am looking at the protocols and can not help but laugh at a very lonely -1GOE on Mao's 3Axel. I wonder who that hero is?

I don't know what it is with Kanako. I just hope that this will motivate her to continue. She can't be happy with ending her career like this, there is so much potential still.

The top 3 skaters are pretty much as expected, and they have all pretty much sewn up their medals with their SP performances. Mao and Carolina will be held up on PCS no matter how they skate their LPs, and Julia is so consistent that it's hard to imagine her making enough mistakes for someone like Akiko or Gracie to beat her.

Japanese audiences (few foreigners there) is the best :thumbsup:
They are supporting everyone as strong as possible.
Carolina got (beginning and end) an ovation than can not get even in Italy

Once more Japanese (

Japan please thost the junior world championship too

It happened and just a month ago. Never say never.

Well done ladies! I'm so pleased with many clean (some relatively clean) performances today! Can't wait for LP.

I don't think her performance has been uploaded to YouTube yet, so I don't have the video evidence. But, on the slow-mo replay, it looked as if her edge rolled over to an inside edge right before she took off. She is a chronic flutzer, and there are too many technical specialists who overlook her flutz.

Great ladies competition. Loved the top six. Only complaint is I wish Akiko's PC's were a little higher but overall
I am pleased with the outcome. Well done Ladies!

Shout out to Mae!

The first skater to get any deductions was Gracie in 5th place. The top 4 skated clean programs.

Yulia's 3lz-3t was the highest scored element.

That said.......Mao was a hero for all and I couldn't be happier for her. What a skate and shame on the judge giving her -1 on her 3a.

Please don't say that. People started to say the same thing in Sochi and look what happened. :slink:
Let me live another day because I'm dying here till she's finished with this competition.
