2015-16 Grand Prix assignments

well, with the increase of BV of pair elements, it surely will be closer with S&H and S&K since S&H planning to include 2 quad program and hopefully they will have the PCS they deserve, no idea about D&R and V&T, with quad throw Sal the potential throw Lutz and SBS Lutz Canadians will surely close the gap as well

After a stream of bittersweet retirement announcements from many stalwart men (Carriere, Razzano, Ten) it's exciting to see the injection of 'new blood' in the Men's field especially, including so many from the junior ranks moving up. Skate Canada in particular looks like an exciting field.

gold 2
wagner 2
edmunds 2
hicks 2
miller 2
bell 1
wang 1
chen 1
nagasu 1
tbd at sa-1

a little surprised miller got 2, surprised wang got selected. Expected bell to get host pick, her only chance?. Nagasu probably on borderline between 1 and 2, got 1.

Us gets 15 slots (17 last year). Russia only 14 slots, japan 15 slots.
mte. I thought they like Karen Chen.

You know what's weird? Last night I had a dream where Hawayek/Baker was in it and today I saw they got Skate America. Maybe it was a sign to me that they would get Skate America LOL.

Eh. No Skate America for me. Looks like I'll just plan for Worlds (which probably should've been my goal all along). SO SO happy about Mao, and it'll be interesting to see Julia back. I think Yuzu will win decisively over Partrick. V/T should do very well, also!

:hopelessness: For all that I prefer Yuzu over Patrick, I don't think a win over Patrick can be decisive, even from Yuzuru... and Yuzuru's not unbeatable. Patrick can pack some major goodies.

Lol, same here. Now that I know I'm not going to SA, I'm so tempted to buy the all access pass for Worlds :hopelessness: (even though I won't be able to attend all the events...) I'm more worried about hotel availability though.

As for the showdown between Patrick and Yuzuru, I'm not so sure. Yuzuru has always been a terrible starter on the GP series, and Patrick not so much. But either way it'll be interesting to see.

I hopefully will do an all-event ticket for Skate America because there's a number of skaters from different disciplines that I want to see. And my school schedule works out fine because I have no Friday classes for my Fall 2015 semester.

However for Worlds, ALL I want to see is the men's discipline because 1. It's my favorite discipline, 2. School comes first so I can't really go the whole week and miss school for that because it's not a valid excuse for me to miss school because of it, and 3. I don't want to be there all day for so many hours...

Unfortunately, at this point, I "have horses" in all of the disciplines except dance. Lol So I HAVE to see Pairs, Men, and Ladies. Luckily, with 2+ people, the hotel costs aren't too bad. But then it's like, what am I going to do the rest of the time? Sty in the hotel since I'll be broke?

Are you referring to Worlds?

So pretty much if I go to Worlds, I'll have to stay at the hotel except for the men's event to do homework.

I am thinking of going to Skate Canada...it's a 11 hour drive. Maybe I will fly there with some of my points...but nevertheless, excited!

Yes, Worlds. I just graduated so luckily I won't have any academic obligations (I should have my grad school apps done by then). :) But I guess if there's two events per day, it's not like I'll be in the hotel ALL day.

Do you live close to Boston? Because I don't.

I was thinking I might try SC after the assignments came out, but the the plane tickets cause $800+ :slink: No thanks. I'll save that $$ for Boston....

Are you trying to fly directly into Lethbridge? I would recommend examining alternatives, such as flying into a major hub like Calgary (where airfare can be hundreds of dollars cheaper), and then renting a car. Still a 2 hour drive to Lethbridge, but you may want a car anyway if you're gonna be in such a small town for a few days.

Does anyone know how Kaetlyn Osmond is doing? Does she get any sport in the Grand Prix - is it just one?

absolutely was thrilled to see Petrov's name!
& V/T hopefully return with a bang★

Boston is a 1 1/2 hour plane ride from Reagan National in DC for me..... And plus I've wanted to visit Boston since like late 2010.

Last year when I went to Skate America, when I wasn't at the venue, I was studying for my sociology and organic chemistry 1 test lololol.

I honestly can't wait for the worlds schedule to come out.
