2015-16 Grand Prix assignments

Well one less person to beat Chan for GPF, lol. But  for Jason. I hope he is OK or if he's not that he recovers in time for nationals.

No reason for it stated? I'm so sad!!

Yeah...I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. I'd be surprise if it was an injury though -- he doesn't really get injured. Though there are always freak accidents, so who knows.

I'm hoping it's an illness (not that that's good) and that his team is just taking precautions.

So since it appears that NHK is filling spots -- I'd love Timothy Dolensky to replace Jason. That would be a major silver lining. Do it JSF!!!

So sad about not seeing Jason again:sad21: but agreed. JSF please bring in the US man whose spins are almost Jason level!

I wonder who the spot is going to?

They technically don't have to fill it, but they did fill the the Paul/Islam spot really quickly. As I said earlier, my vote's for Tim Dolensky. He left a very positive impression in the FS at SC and it would be an easy switch.

While they have been filling spots and I hope they will fill it, technically at this point they aren't obligated to fill it and haven't been obligated for a few days already, so that's also a possibility.

ETA: Mrs P beat me to it...

I really hope so. His FS was so refined and full of elegance. He is also quite a looker with a good fashion sense.
My next pick for the replacement is Yi Wang if possible, only permitted to compete a SP at the TEB.

I'm voting for Brendan Kerry. Tim would be a good pick, as well.

I tend to pull for the underdog....

Yes, in my mind, Brendan and Tim are good options.
They both have great programs, and reallyboth demonstrated great improvements and a comeback after a rough short program.
Michael Christian Martinez or Misha Ge would be good options as well.

But then it also has to be someone who can come to NHK on such short notice, including visa and all.
So i suspect Misha would not be an option.

Another vote for either Brendan or Tim. Brendan might actually be an easier choice - he has to come back to this side of the world at around that time anyway, because Australian Nationals starts next weekend. The only concern there would be that he would skate his LP in Japan on the Saturday, and have to be ready to skate his SP in Sydney on the Thursday. Fortunately, Tokyo and Sydney are only about an hour apart on the timezone board.
