Count me into the no-taste-in-end-poses crew...
I actually think that, with the abundance of Romeo & Juliets this season, it would be highly appropriate for the ISU to punish perpetrators of the Seasonal Epidemic Warhorse by making them end their programs by fake-"dying" at the end. Like, splayed-out-on-the-ice-dramatically "dying."
Isn't there a rule that 1 blade must be on the ice though?

The ISU is ruining creativity...how can you be expected to come up with a compelling ending sequence if an overdone, melodramatic death scene isn't an option?!?

To be fair here someone else was saying Liza had crazy arms that just windmill all over the place. My response to them wasn't so much to compare Liza to Mr Wacky Inflatable Flailing Tube Man but just to say that some people found enjoyment in and even took the time to learn from him. So if someone could find beauty in him I'm sure many would find beauty in Liza's arms too

Not sure if it's been posted over here but we've known for some time that Yulia's choreo isn't finished yet and that a trip back to the states was already planned. It might explain the empty middle. I guess I'm alone but I thought she really improved her edges and slowed down her movements into something very nice. i think if she can perform her jumps well then this program will eventually look much better. I actually really liked both of her StSeqs and Mao is about the only one I really like to watch do them.

Maybe Adelina also shares a lot of posters sentiment about the judges scoring pretty awfully sometimes and uses the LP ending as a hidden attempt to attack and knock out some judges or at least to give them a good scare. That would kinda make her my personal hero.

OMG if she accidentally takes a judge out with a head butt at one of the competitions, that should be an automatic +100 points, as well as an honorary 'Adelina is our hero day'.

What is happening with Leonova's Music. Also, how do you design a costume for such random music selection's as Summertime, Jailhouse Rock, and Fly Me To The Moon??? After her Chaplin program from last year I had very high hopes for her. It's early, so I don't really care about the jumps. I guess I'll have to wait and see if she can make it work. For now, I am not a fan.

I tell you what, I will praise the campy crashy ending if Sotnikova gets rid of the corny sequin heart on her costume. We got a deal?
Actually, unlike the Sochi program, I think this was far more genuine in its emotion. The Dancing with the Stars did her a world of good.

They did in ice dancing after T/D's Bolero and it got real old real fast.

The ice dance programs I find myself rewatching the most from the Russian test skates are Ilinykh/Zhiganshin's SD and FD. I'm fond of that team, but more than that, the programs seem to have lot of potential and I really enjoyed them for being "just test skates."
For the other dance teams:
I liked Yanovskaya/Mozgov's SD. I thought they skated their FD well, but at this point I'm not sold on the program...OK, I pretty much hate the music.
I also liked Bobrova/Soloviev's SD, which surprised me because I've never been a big fan of theirs--although I'm very glad to see them out on the ice again. (Her dress is gorgeous, by the way.) I thought Bobrova/Soloviev skated their FD quite well, and I actually liked the program.
Both Stepanova/Bukin's programs were not too inspiring at this point. Also I think their "low-level" twizzles are interesting, and I'm sure they take some mad skills to perform, I'm not sure that I need to see them in every program.
I think Monko/Khaliavin's SD wasn't too inspiring either. (I still think their costumes look directly inspired by Papadakis/Cizeron's FD costumes from last season.) I liked their FD more and certainly better than Stepanova/Bukin's.

Thoughts on the Dance Teams:
They all looked in good shape for September. I/Z easily had the best Ravensburger Pattern and the most ambitious programs. Their elements look solid, I think they'll end up Russia #1. Their FD is farther along than their SD, but both programs are in a good place and have lots of potential to grow. I might change the ending of the SD, it felt a little abrupt but otherwise very good.
Bobrova/Soloviev were solid. Their programs work for them and they had the second best skating skills of the event. I expect we'll see them at worlds.
I think Monko/Khaliavin look solid for #3. It's pity they didn't skate the FD better, but their programs both look good, they have good skating skills and more sophisticated programs than Y/M or S/B.
Yanovskaya/Mozgov are clearly talented and promising, but their inexperience at the senior level really showed. Their programs were simpler, they could be slow, and ultimately I don't think they'll be on the podium at Nationals. Both their programs fizzled out at the end, particularly the FD, I didn't really care for that final music cut. They have a lot of potential, but I think they need more time to develop.
Stepanova/Bukin skated the farthest apart and had the sloppiest partial step sequence in the SD, but it could very well be cleaned up by the time they start competing. But out of all the programs we saw from the ice dancers this weekend, S/B's FD seemed like the only complete misfire. There are programs I didn't like that much, but this FD is the only one I felt was ill-conceived. It didn't start out strong and became increasingly incoherent until the wheels fell off the program entirely at the end. The fact that they have the weakest skating skills of the teams present didn't help.

I totally agree. Plus I don't think Fedichkina is that great as many think. Her young lady looking (vs. a girl) flirty smile may have won her favors.

How come all the top Russian ladies wore ear plugs for the FS?
...all except gorgeous Anna, who have by far the best costume (Kostner inspired?) but seems also inherited bit of that Kostner oopsies. As for her program, although it is safe, but it was okay and sort of suited her in a very Russian way. The music edit was a bit odd though... it is like dadumm...climaxed!!... oops forgot this other bit music wait a minute...
As for everything else, I am never fan of those 'Look I am EMOTING soooo hard...' self indulgent grandiose overwrought bombastic emotionally blackmail music 'give me MORE PCS noooowwwww!!!' type of program.

Quite possibly, but I found myself thinking, thankfully, unlike Carolina, Anna did not sport flesh-coloured knickers...
