2015 US Nationals TV and Webstream Schedules

Aww, cute. Both of my cats are taking a nap right now.

So outside of commercial breaks, everything has been pretty smooth and good quality? I haven't noticed anything on my end to indicate any streaming issues since Samantha's program.

It's looks great and going smoothly.

The stream quality is amazing! Thank you for all the efforts you have done to us. Cats are always cute whatever they do. :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Stream is ending, seems I have finally gotten everything set up perfectly in time for Nationals.

Will be back on-air tomorrow 1/17 at 5pm EST with NBC Preview coverage. Now, to test it out when more people are watching!

Are there any FREE live streams available because i'm not paying to watch on icenetwork.

As of now, I think the only FREE livestreams that may be available will be NBC's coverage (which represents a small portion of the overall event).

We may see other FREE livestreams pop up during the hours leading up to the bigger events (Senior skaters, at least). They will probably be foreign (outside the U.S.) feeds, and may have non-English commentary.

‏The last words of your post are the crux of the issue, sabinfire. Your comment that you are not a casual skating fan is a huge understatement. You are in a league of your own as a super-dedicated fan, even compared to other GS diehards.

I would note also that NBC is between a rock and a hard place in trying to use the preview hours to reach out (as they should) to new viewers -- those who sort of recall a YT video of some nameless ponytailed guy skating to Riverdance, but who have forgotten (or never knew) whether he went to the Olympics -- as well as to whet the appetites of existing fans.

If interviews or fluff pieces that have appeared in one form in the NBC preview hours show up again during the weekend of live coverage, I do hope that NBC would re-cut them to include some previously unseen video.

(above quote was edited down for brevity)

You refer to yourself as a casual skating fan, golden411 (which is fine), but sometimes I feel like you're a walking Encyclopedia of figure skating information, particularly as it pertains to content on GS, or where to locate specific content, or simply providing information to other skating fans. ;)

I had mentioned somewhere on GS (maybe you might know where), I would be fine with fluff pieces and interviews with skaters, or even mini-clips of past performances with new commentary.

Seeing bits like this gives me a lot of hope:

Johnny and Tara's US Figure Skating Championships Preview

If we see more stuff like this over the weekend's Preview shows, I would be content with that.

To that end, I think NBC can appeal to both casual skating fans and the die-hards at the same time, by going in this direction. (Obviously, you can't please everybody all the time...)

Anyhow, thanks for the kind words and thoughtful response, and I appreciate your contributions to GS as well.

Sabinfire, thanks for the link to the preview of the preview.

Looking at this, I can't say I disagree with anything that Johnny said. And Tara, well, I'm not obsessed with Jeremy Abbott, but she wasn't bad either.

It is interesting that they only discussed five singles skaters. Since I only really care about men, and they discussed three men, I'm cool with that.

NBC feed is live now. Currently, NBC is showing an infomercial, with U.S. Nationals Preview coverage beginning at 5pm EST (in about 20 minutes, as of this post).

As always, please let me know if you are having any issues with the live-stream, so I can adjust settings.

(feed is now currently inactive)

Edit: switching streams.

Yeah, I'm really sick of seeing them already, and I only watch them during the streams here.

Good preview so far. The C/B FD was a replay, but I support showing more Ice Dance on NBC, even if it is recycled. Not a big fan of the recycled Wagner FS from the GPF, with the same old commentary and all...

Oh well, hopefully we won't see too much more of it... :slink:

Okay, the previews are a bit tacky ("My rival went on to win Olympic gold...") but for some reason I find myself grinning anyway.
